Rc truck starts fine but dosent want to go

Alright. it starts fine. but to make it go i have to give it alot of gas. and then it just go really slow. I dont want to give it more gas. I am afraid it might mess up the engine. I already look at the differntials

Have you pulled off the clutch bell to check out the clutch? Is the engine tuned properly? An overly rich engine will run like crap when you put it on the ground.

alright i have took off the clutch bel and didnt see anything wrong.. but if it to richh will it have alot of smoke come out of the muffler and and get hot quick.

Too rich you will get a lot of smoke and it will run cooler actually. It will also load up and die if left at idle.....it won't rev very far when you're at full throttle.

Too lean and you will see little to no smoke and it will run like a raped ape with a lot of heat.

well i found out. alot of the problem was the piston so i have to get a new one or replace the engine. if i get a new engine what should i get ..thinking about .LRP Z.28R Spec 3 Engine. any other ideas

What kind of rig you gonna be putting it in? The LRP Z.28R is a beast. Great engines....especially for the price.

Yes i think Rolex is on to something. Good place to start!: If your gear mesh is to tight the hotter they get will tighten up and slow you down.
