Hi RC Talk.com,

First time posting any thing on any kinda forum but google just hasnt solved the problem for me.

When I put my rc car into reverse it causes the motoe to shut down? I need to turn the transmitter off then on again to get the motor to engage?

Any help / suggestiosn would be greatly appreciated.

More information about the make and model of the car and the transmitter and receiver would be helpful

School boy error. Apologoies. Its a little Ripmax Rough Racer electric RC Car. I have proven teh motor is ok. I can only presume this is a reciever issue., I see they are only £12 on ebay. SHould I just buy a new one?

I do appreciate the prompt response BTW

Ah. And if i do buy a new reciever unit how will I ensure the same channel as my transmitter.

Tough call on this. It appears it's more of a "Toy Grade" RC car as apposed to a "Hobby Grade" that has plenty of support for replacement or upgraded parts. If you find a supplier for parts you'll have to specify what channel you currently have if you can get a replacement receiver. It will be labeled on a sticker on the crystal or marked or color coded on the Rx or Tx. Good luck. Let us know.

My knowledge is poor. Just learned that 2.4ghz is frequency free and the system does not use crystals.....that took me many google searches and Youtubes to establish. Sorry for wasting you guys time on this as it seems the new receibver will work wit my transmitter.

BTW the Ripmax is oan ok we car. Lots of spares and seems quite reliable as en entry for my son.

I did get a HoBao Pirate 1/8th scale nitro thing at a house clerance sale but that thing was mental and my son just hid behind me crying ......

Thanks again though for reposnes. Good resultfor my first time posting on a hobby forum.

I have been having power issues on my just bought in January, 2wd traxxas rustler vxl. I testes the charger, then the battery. They are both fine. IDK if my motor is burnt out. It acts normal but only lasts 15 minutes.

15 minutes of run time is not a problem.
