RC Driving Style
Hi

I need some advices. I just bought my first RC nitro car, but my problem is that it wont respond to my controller.

I can't seem to find out what the problem is, perhaps the controller isn't calibrated to the spesific car, I'm not sure. I've managed to start the engine with the glow plugg, but then, when I am about to drive, the car isn't responding.

I bought from http://www.rctoyhouse.com/
this car: http://www.rctoyhouse.com/gas/rc_nitro_gas_powered_car_rapida.html

I've got a "Himoto T3816" - AM T-07 (27.125MHz).
(Digital Proportional Radio Controlsystem) controller, came with the car, but no manuals.
Are these calibrated already or how does it work? Do I have to calibrate myself, in that case, where can I get hold of a step-by-step instruction?
If anyone has any suggestions in what I should/could do, please share info.

Tnx,
Des

Des,

Forgive the 'dumb' questions, but, I'm assuming you turned on the controller as well as the receiver on the car? I tried to look up the controller that came with the car and I haven't been able to locate a description of it............ still searching.

Well, that manual wasn't any help that I downloaded. And naturally the Himoto web page has no info about the controller.

Hi MrClean

Thx for your swift respond, and tnx for helping me out.

Yes, I did switch the reciever on the car on, as well as the RC, hehe.
Still, you should be able to turn the front wheels when it's switched on without starting the engine...looked up on Youtube a couple of times, but couldn't find a good video of how to browse the problem.

I am not sure what type RC it is, but it might also be Himoto T3818, but don't think so...

I've now sent a mail to the RCTOYHOUSE and requested a PDF of the manual (if they have), so I will get a reply soon, I hope...

What do you think might be the issue here with the RC and reciever on the car?

Thx again,
Des

Make sure that the crystals in the transmitter and receiver are matching. Also make sure you have BRAND NEW batteries in both the transmitter and receiver packs. Check to make sure that there is not a problem with the antenna wire, that it isn't torn out of the receiver or anything like that. When you switch on the receiver, you should be able to turn the wheels without the engine running. Also, make sure that the servo wires are securely plugged into the receiver. Once you do that come back and let us know what happens and we can go from there.

Just wanted to add, if you get it going, do not forget break in, no one mentioned it yet.

Hey

Problem solved :p
I opened the receiver and found the batteries missing :s

Tnx for all your tips ;)
