When I'm not in the dirt this car spends a majority of times on the road. The stock tires are not the best for that purpose.

Can anyone suggest some on road tires I can use with my rb10?

There are a ton of 1/10TH and 1/8TH on road tires, so, it depends on what exactly you are doing with it. Speed runs? Bashing? Is it 12MM or 17MM hex? There are Arrma's DBoots 11's, Associated SR10 multi surface, Yeah Racing from A-Main, Duratrax Bandito's (avoid the Duratrax Speedtreads, they wear extremely fast), Firebrand (although, they are typically more expensive than most other brands, they tend to not wear as fast), Protoform, and even some decent ones on eBay and Amazon, as long as you avoid the super cheap ones.

Primary use is just parking lot ripping with my son. It's 12mm hex. Is there an advantage to buying pre-mounted vs unmounted?

Only upside to unmounted is just if you're wanting to use specific wheels and/or foams with specific tires. Otherwise it doesn't matter

For parking lots, these are the tires i would suggest for the rear: https://www.towerhobbies.com/produc...HhJc1KKh1hTZUSlRrU4lMbqUOKD5RixAaApRWEALw_wcB
For the fronts, any 2.2 ribbed tire, or even a stadium truck front tire. I run an Associated ProSC10, which is basically the short course version of your buggy, and, i use the Bandito on the rear, and Traxxas bandit fronts (skinnier than the Rustler ribbed) or Associated SR10 (https://www.ebay.com/itm/2041488420...Ut0Il/lRleNz4dzI=|tkp:Bk9SR9a0iZydYQ&LH_BIN=1) tires on the front, however, the Associated's might be a bit wide for a buggy. I do get the tires and wheels separate though, and glue them myself, that way the wheels match (disclaimer: I do hate gluing tires lol)
These are some of the others i have used.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1341151469...5/jSGGiXlrGPOIp9c|tkp:Bk9SR_bWo5ydYQ&LH_BIN=1 Not bad on or off road on the front, but, tend to slide on wet asphalt, so turning is reduced.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/3741903582...ny3pSciJjS2WyAg==|tkp:Bk9SR_jWo5ydYQ&LH_BIN=1 Rears tend to wear out way faster than the fronts, and dont last very long (last time, i think i got 6 full batteries out of them)
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1626596737...Dp7Wj44xCf49IKrZo|tkp:Bk9SR_zWo5ydYQ&LH_BIN=1 These dont last long on asphalt, neither do most of the "soft" compound dirt tires.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/3942891842...iLVnFn9rfzoH4zg==|tkp:Bk9SR_7Wo5ydYQ&LH_BIN=1 These are like the Traxxas Bandit fronts, both of which have a tendency to slide on wet ground, and, even on dry ground arent always the best, but, they are ok.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/3342896780...v+PiqSuSTZzedgw==|tkp:Bk9SR6Tcr5ydYQ&LH_BIN=1 These arent too bad, but, the wheels suck, so, since they usually come unmounted, i mount them on better wheels. You have to make sure to read the description carefully though, because they also make them in 1/10TH touring car size, which are smaller than buggy wheels.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1938487891...59dYgeiWbCR2zsA==|tkp:Bk9SR87pvZydYQ&LH_BIN=1 These seem to be hit or miss, depending on the temperature of the surface they are on.
