Gunna drop it in mym 1/8 i heard good bout both (leanign towards 3 Port) but i hear for the hyper 8 port its hit or miss to get a good mill. But hear the RB has lots of low end and is a proven quality engine that very reliable. But i also hear that the Hyper is not the most reliable engine but rocks. Please help me decide i going to order tonight or tomarra night.

What are your opinions on both these angine and would be best for a begginer 1/8 buggy racer (not to nitro though).

Don't know much of the RB Engine. I have the 8 Port race Ofna 21 Lots of grunt and speed for my needs. I like to have power to get out of corners and semi long straightaways. Not that big of a speed freak when it comes to buggies. Not looking to hit 75 just enough to win.Lol I am trying to get a hold of an OS Carb but low on funds. You know who you are. ALso you can play with gearing to help you out as well.

I ran an RB Concepts S7 for quite some time in my last buggy. It was a great engine and reasonably priced too, about 220.00. You can ask McVickj, Imbroken, Wilsoncat, Highlife, Nitromaniac, and NC Nitro about its performance, they all saw it run several times. Always ran cool, about 220-230, and stayed tuned. Very easy to start as well.

I would strongly recommend it. You can also check out the RB forum and learn more at www.rbproducts.com

I'm not looking at the S7 though I'm lookin at the 3 port

The only 3port version I was aware of was the RB Concepts CE. It isnt that much less expensive than an S7, and I would recommend the extra cash to be spent.

The econo is the CE. I have seen the S7 for as low as 209 around the net. For the slightly extra cash, I would go with that. Just an opion though.

The 3 port is a kick ass engine. I had one for a while and I was impressed. It has all kinds of low end power and with the right pipe you can have better than ok top end. For the $$ its a good engine. I also have the 8 port, great engine and it can take alot of abuse. The carb is a pain in the ass though, more top end then the 3 port, but less low end. For the price both engines are good, Ipersonally would go with the 3 port.

I hear the hot ticket with the hyper 8 port is to add the o.s. 20e carb.

well i had some unexpected costs i had to pay out so now this effects my budget so i got a low cost engien that will take a beating (O.S. RG sport engine) it was the best choice for a cheap engine the 3 port was out of the question at 170. So i went and ordered the OS
