any particular weight or can i get any silicon oil from Home depot, Ace or Autozone? I see stuff specifically for RC from Losi small bottle but pricey, not sure if necessary. Would this be ok to use https://a.co/d/2NFlASi from amazon.
As stated in my original reply, as well as in @CertifiedMike ’s; you want 7k, 7k, and 3k.. those are the viscosities. You’ll need to get them from hobbyshops-whether online, or brick & mortar. I’d recommend Ultimate Racing brand from www.beachRC.com

Their prices are the best, the fluid itself is the highest quality you’ll find, and they ship out super fast, and shipping isn’t absurd.

When cleaning-you can use Naphtha, just don’t allow it to come in contact with your bearings. You can use Zippo lighter fluid in a pinch, or even Simple Green degreaser at FULL STRENGTH… It just won’t work as well at cutting the silicone.. You need to get used to tearing things COMPLETELY apart with your nitro buggy, and inspecting, lubricating, and reassembling. There’s a LOT of maintenance required on a routine basis in RC, and you’ll need to get proficient at it. ESPECIALLY in nitro.

No sweat brother! Let us know how it goes, or if you have any questions! 🤘🍻
hey man, all is good. Purchased diff oil 7k from Amazon, link below and got everything back together with new spur gear. You've mentioned anywhere from 3-7k, what's the difference? does it matter in this range?

My RedCat XTR runs great, still working on fine tuning engine but stuck on why engine blips during full throttle transition mid to upper range rpm. I have basic concept of nitro tuning, idles fine however can't figure out get full smooth transition all the way. trying to look at Utube vid but haven't come across any that talks about mid range blips or stalls..

No-what I mentioned was 7k-7k-3k for front-center-rear, specifically. That should be a good general STARTING point to find the setup your vehicle likes for the surface you’re running on, and of course how you prefer to drive.. Yessir-it matters TREMENDOUSLY, as this is one of your most important tuning platforms within the overall setup of your vehicle.

As far as nitro engine tuning, and proper diagnosis’, I will recommend you take the time to watch Joseph Quagarine of Invisible Speed, and Mayako’s video’s. You will NOT find a better video, nor even person in front of you in real life to help you understand what you’re doing, and most importantly WHY you’re doing it. A “basic knowledge” isn’t going to get it, and it requires LOTS of practice, and FULL understanding that can only come from learning the RIGHT way to make adjustments after COMPLETELY understanding the inner workings of not only your nitro engine, but also its supporting ingredients-clutch, driveline, pipe, tank, fuel supply & pressure lines, how to read your plugs, temps, etc..

The videos are not short, and that’s by design. You won’t LEARN what is required in 5-10min, and I’d seriously recommend you watch them again, and again, and again. If you DO, it’ll be about impossible for you to fail imo. I’ve helped steer folks new, and seasoned veterans toward successful nitro tuning, and maintenance with these exact videos for a while now. There is no better process IMHO..

I’d also highly recommend you watch them in the order in which I linked them. Good luck bud! 🍻🤘
