I'm using the stock radio with my T-Maxx, If I switch it out with another kind will it make much differnce at all? if so what is a good one to get that wont make me broke?
Thanks ~Ben

Make a difference in what exactly? It won't make it any faster, that's for sure. But it can make it glitch free, and give you much more fine tuning options over the stock system. It all depends on what you're looking to get out of it.

You might want to consider a Spektrum DX3e. They're around $100 with a receiver and a servo.

anything is an upgrade over the stock Traxxas radio imo, what you will see if you go with the radio upgrade is better response, zero interferance, fine tuning and for me anyway it seemed to give a better feel for the RC just because the handling was more exact. .02c

After using an Acoms Stick controller today on a friends rig, having used nothing but Spektrum for over a year, the Acoms was a night and day difference.

With the acoms, Less response, less accuracy, less range and a nervousness of a runaway all came rushing back to when i first picked up an r/c radio. I must admit though, i was grinning from ear to ear in a way i have not done since i first started, but.....

CHANGE THE RADIO !!!!

you'll get more of a feel for the rig from the throttle to the steering, you will find a lil' more confidence in your driving as you become "as one" with the controller.

You will find you never have to look at what your hands are doing either, spektrum / 2.4ghz radio's become truly instinctive to the point that you will yank the throttle in, turn the wheel and your having fun without thinking about what your doing. You will also find you spend more time enjoying your driving skills cos you will be watching your rig a LOT more.............

Even the alignment trim can be set without looking after only a short time.

I changed to a spektrum DX3S radio set up and never looked back. When you buy that you get 2 recievers with it and i thought that was pretty cool. But at any rate with the DX3S you get telemetry which will tell you RX battery Voltage, TX battery voltage, Engine Temp, and RPM with it all hooked up. Just a thought and it will run about $249, but keep in mind that it comes with 2 recievers
