radio problem.... communication

when i first turn on my radio it takes like 1-5 seconds for my car to realize that the radio is on. is this normal? or is my radio going. after the delay the radio works fine though

If the batteries are weak...if the radio and/or the receiver is a synth...or if you are running digital servos...this behavior is considered normal.

I would check the batteries. If they are fresh and the thing works fine (as you stated) you should have nothing to worry about. My full synth HiTec Lynx 3D does it on every model it is programmed to run. No problems yet (after nearly three years).

My Mag Jr did the same thing...I bought it new in 1986..yes, '86...I just recently retired it for the new Futaba 2PL...the radio has always worked like a champ.

Yeah, Sky hit it right on the head. I noticed a delay when I switched out to digital servo's. Everything still works great.
