The logo reads: “Racing Lines – Australiasia’s Premier R/C Car Magazine”

Racing Lines Magazine is the RC Car Action / RC Nitro for Australia, Asia and New Zealand. That fact that the mag is exported to Asia should tell you just how must great information the blokes from down under pack in under the cover.

I found out about the mag via a post someone dropped about my buggy (Hotbodies Lightning Pro). I emailed the magazine, giving them my address and asking if I could pay for that specific issue to be shipped to me. I also mentioned RCNitroTalk.com and a particular thread ( “Hot Bodies Lightning Pro” ) that seems to get lots of traffic via Google (1000 + views). I suggested they post a tid bit of the article as a teaser to encourage other Lightning Pro owners to buy a copy. After learning that it would cost $15 for the mag & shipping, I lost interest and didn’t fax my credit card info.

Then, yesterday, I get this in the mail:

RL-Airmail.jpg

The postage alone was $22 AUD!!

FREEBIE! ZIP! ZILTCH! NADA! (Jesse James is gonna come stomp a hole in my ass now.)

Apparently, someone read the post and the forum. The whole Lightning Pro vs GS Storm RTR argument must have prompted someone to send me these two copies of the mag. The mag on the left shows the Sacker Pro by Ming Yang (aka Hotbodies Lightning Pro). The mag on the right (August of 2003? :wtf: ) shows the GS Storm RTR.

Here are more detailed pics where you can read all of the text:

Sacker Pro - Issue No. 90 - June 2003

GS Storm RTR - Issue No. 91 - August 2003

After opening the mags, all I can say is: wow! These guys don’t mess around. Each issue is 100+ pages with very few ads. The full page JR XS3 ads go to show that good R/C equipment doesn't change from country to country. This may be old news to those that read RC mags (i don't). I had no idea they made a “Hotbodies Edition” of the HPI RS4 3 SS Nitro touring car. I also didn’t know they made RC rock climbers. Did you know the Australian GS Storm RTR doesn’t come with the JR radio? You also get to read about the results from championship races in Asia and Australia. The sweet Sacker Pro / Lightning Pro info was pure eye candy. Did you know that Ming Yang didn't just copy the “K” design but improved upon it when they made the Lightning Pro? I haven't had a chance to read each issue from cover to cover, but you can bet I will.

This mag is worth it. Getting another country’s perspective is one thing, but having all the extra info from the Asian-mainland that you just can't get in the states is just sweet. If I had the money, my next email to this mag would be a request for a subscription.

How was the info on the Mugen MTX-3 in issue 90? If it's any good I'll send for it.

I bearly had time to read the storm article and the sacker article. I'll read the MTX-3 for you. I have no doubt it's top notch like the rest of the mag.

I was about to say the 90' Mugen and wonder what in the world you would care about an RC that's 13 years old.

yeah el. Issue No. 90 not 1990. :p The mag is at home and I'm at work. I'll check out the MTX-3 article tonight.

RH, you didnt know they made rock crawlers? What do you think the Tamiya TXT-1 is? How about the XTM X-Factor? Some people convert their clodbusters and juggernauts. Even the E-maxx can become a rock crawler.

Any pics of e-maxx converted to rockcrawlers out there?? I've got an E and, well, it pretty much just sits there because I just love the T too dang much. Only time the E gets run is when my gf goes with me to bash haha.
