question about break in. (noob)

Understand one thing, Socomgod. Any nitro vehicle you get, whether it be brand new or used, I suggest (and others will too) you seal the engine up as I stated earlier with RTV sealant. The majority of the time, you won't experience any problems, but it's good insurance and it will help the engine last much longer.

Even when I purchase a brand new engine, I'll seal it up before I even break it in.

As for the Jato, I don't necessarily think it's too much for anyone to handle, per se, but it is 2WD, not 4WD. If you're on the street or dirt, it's a fun, fun truck, but it doesn't perform nearly as well as a 4WD does in grass or rougher terrain.

Revo 3.3 is solid. I know a few folks swear by 'em! Check the Revo forum or send a PM top SMaxxin, I know he's very happy with his! Even Zandor has one, but he's been too busy digging the toe jam out of his feet and taking pictures of his dogs pissing in the snow to bother running it!

ON YOU!!!!

LOL:LoL:

If they let me I'm going to get the revo3.3 If not they better send me a brand new warhead evo. and ill get the revo in a month or so.

If you want to race get a Revo. As far as what's better, the 2.5 or the 3.3, I say the OS .18TZ but a properly tuned mill will hang with the .18 TM. The TZ will require a little finesse and modding to get in, where as the TM is a direct drop in. The Traxxas motors can be a little finicky on the tune but they are not bad. I know of a nice 3.3 Revo with a ton of extras for sale RTR.

Ok I have break in question my revo will be here today I did not order a temp gun but my buddy has a temp gun its not info red it has a little probe you touch to things and it give you a temp will that work or is it bad to touch the engine with a probe?

You take the temp at the glowplug. So basically your pointing the sensor down the center of the head. If you can get it down there, it shouldn't be an issue, I would just make sure it doesn't have any current running through it so you don't smoke the plug

I don't know how easy it will be to take an accurate temp with a probe, versus one that takes it via heat radiation. I think you'd probably be smartest to pony up the $25 and get a temp gun, like the Duratrax Flashpoint.

I will be shipping the evo back monday. If it wasn't for work I would do it tomorrow. After talking to the warrenty place again today I'm pretty sure I will be able to get my money back.

And rc newbie I would recomend the duratrax flash point. It should be $25 at your lhs. For the peace of mind its worth it.

The Flashpoint is the same thing as many of the others out there, the case and all are identical. They just slap the Trash sticker on it

Barking dogs, blowing mills, Impatient arguing people and newcomers to the set...wow this is better than a soap opera.....LOL....Socom MW has no clue what he's saying and you should just start cranking those needles away when you get frustrated with your new toy......HAHAHA the nemo-sis has spoken.......

:jk:
this is a very frustrating hobby to start in when you don't have expreienced people on hand right there all the time....I'm helping my neighbor with his new toy......some 10 scale Kyosho TC, He got this because they didn't have the NTC3 in stock, I told him what to get and his friend listened, the neighbor didn't, now he's having issues with the plastic parts nad replacememtn parts availability that he wouldn't have if he listened to my advice......it's funny to watch a newbie get pissed when "this stinkin thing doesn't work!!!" and the pro can touch it with the golden hand and make it so....LOL...it's just time and experience.....we all had heart pounding head throbbing days in this hobby....and we all realize it's just PATIENCE......it's a hobby......remember
