I am a novice and I have a Force 25 Dominator nitro powered buggy that has only been used 6 times over a 2 year period. I have tested the battery and it is only showing 3.3 volts instead of 7.2 volts. All it seems to be doing is spinning the starter motor and not engaging the gear case set. Can anyone please tell me if my nitro buggy will only spin the starter motor at such a low voltage and not engage the gear case set.
I have been told previously that the green battery which I have that came with the car was a light duty battery and not like the heavier blue battery. It has been kept in pristine condition.
Could I have rooted the battery by not using it more often?

The one-way bearing is slipping and needs cleaned or replaced. At that voltage,if the owb grabbed correctly it would stall the starter. Is the 3.3v after trying to recharge the battery?

The 3.3v was after trying to recharge the battery. We needed a new tester so we went and got one and it worked.
My partner has pulled apart the car and it seems that the starter motor is working, the gear set seems good and he is now working on the one-way bearing.
Fingers crossed. When he started fiddling with the machine so many of the bolts were lose and had to be tightened.
Thanks .. will let you know what happens.
