dont just post "get the blackberry" give a reason why the Motorola Q is worse or better than the blackberry please....or name a phone (alltel if possible) that is comparable to the two.

Get a blackberry. I have the 8230 and love it compared to any other smartphone I've used. I did some searching around for blackberry vs Q discussions and almost in every case (with the exception of blackberry or motorola company forums) the overwhelming advice was to choose the blackberry.

Here's a discussion thread that was fairly vendor-neutral and covers a lot of usability and other rationales behind the choices: http://www.wirelessforums.org/alt-cellular-verizon/blackberry-vs-motorola-q-10138.html

hmm ok, i read through their opinions, sound like the BB is easier to use wich is a plus.....a problem i have with my current phone is the buttons for texting are just too close together, hows the bb's?

I absolutely hate texting. I mean I really dislike texting at all. Most phones keyboards suck or you have to learn the key shortcuts for those stupid phones with no full qwerty keyboard. Or the keys are too small. Or it's that goddamned iPhone with no tactile feedback.. I want a button you sonofabitch iPhone! Back to the store with you and your Apple-loving hippie fanboys with their half-soy no-whip 1-pump white chocolate mochas and mock turtlenecks..

uh.. sorry, lost it for a second.

That said, I have no problem composing emails, SMS, or whatever on the blackberry. I don't have huge Gigantor hands, just normal man-hands. So, unless you're Andre the Giant (and that would be freaky since he's dead and I wasn't aware God ran an ISP) you should be fine.

Run into a T-mobile store and something and play with one for a while before dropping the cash for one.

uhh you must be from seattle lol....k thanks for the info/advice, i'll prolly go check one out first but I'm prolly gonna lean towards the BB.

LOL damn son.. whats your number i have a silly little txt i wanna send you Amoeba :D

Psh yea right I hate texting also.. so much i had AT&T make it that my phone wont even receive the stupid things

i text cuz when I'm working i can't hear anything so texting is basically a must for me.

The Moto Q sucks! Verizon released the new BlackBerry Storm last week. Touchscreen. Supposed to be the iPhone killer. A buddy got one and it is already bricked. Verizon says it's going to be a week or two before they can replace it. I am thinking about the BB World Addition for my next phone. I have a XV6800 now (HTC Mogul) and it was great till the Windows Mobile 6.1 upgrade. Now it freezes all the time.

A friend with T-Mobile just got a G1 from Google. He says it is bad ass!

what about the Palm Treo 700p???

no I've never used a palm, cept for mine lol but they look pretty good imo....whats wrong with windows mobile??? good internet will be a must.

I'll be in line for a BB Storm in January when my AT&T contract is up. Their reception sucks at my house, so I'm switching to Verizon and I'm almost 100% certain I'm going to pick up the Storm. Hopefully they'll have the bugs worked out. They've already updated the firmware twice and people see dramatic improvements.

have and love the bb 8330

i would go for the bold or storm if it was a personal phone. the 8330 is standard issue at work

Except for my buddy who updated his twice only to have it brick on him the morning after the second download. If they don't get it fixed by mid-January then I think I will get the Curve or World Addition...

Windows Mobile freezes up a lot. I send a picture I have to reboot. I receive a picture I have to reboot. Have to reboot every morning to get my Bluetooth to talk to my headset. And this is AFTER doing the 6.1 upgrade...

Don't get me wrong, Windows Mobile does a lot and does it well. It just has some quirks. But now that most the competition is coming out with full HTML browsers you really don't need a Windows Mobile device to have good Internet.

One big plus about my XV6800 is the full qwerty key board!
