I am fairly new to RC and I just bought new tires for a truck I bought used...a nitro Stampede. Well...I can't get the tires on the rims...I bought exact replacement tires and the rims are the old ones that came on the truck...I just can't get the tires over the lips on each side of the rims...Does anyone have any tips on how to get new tires on rims...this is proving to be very difficult for me...

If you got softer rubber tires, heating them up with a heat gun/blow drier should make them stretch a little better. Then you can use some sort of flat object like a flathead screwdriver to lever them onto the rims. Just don't use too much force or the rim might break.

I always put the rim flat on the table stand over it and work one side on and then the other..using my wieght to force the stretch.......and then massage them into place....heat is good as well perhaps a soft boil and a towel....but you then have to get them dry and get the foams back in quickly to take advantage of the risidual heat for stretching.

Best of luck

try some dishsoap on the lip and lay the rim on a hard surface and push. Lube er up good!
