Pushing the Limitless: Land Speed RC Records Incoming

There’s a new sheriff in town and nobody seems to care !! ,, land speed rc records are about to be obliterated, and I’ve seen nothing on here about it , still trying to creat room for it , by selling things , but I will soonly be speaking out about how I fly the new LIMITLESS across the giant church parking lot by me ,, until I creem it into a curb or something , I own several rc’s but I don’t have a on road vehicle at all , so I’m gunna see how long it lasts ,,, film at 11 , stand by speedsters !!

I don't see that happening any time soon. There have been people spending thousands to beat the record, only to have to spend thousands more when their car became a 200mph airplane. And having a new RTR car come out isn't going to have any significance with regards to the current record being broke, considering it wouldn't have much left of the original Limitless by the time it was modified to beat the current record. Kevin Talbot had 4 ESC's in his that cost more than the last 3 1:1 cars I owned.

Yeah, there are a lot of guys that have broke into the 200's recently. But every mph they gain is costing them a lot of money in redesigns. Talbot rebuilt his two or three times when he got close to 200, and he didn't gain much each time. Current record is 218.

I think I'd be more likely to learn to fly a plane than try and run at speeds like this.
The Jato was too fast at 70 for me so yeah, its not for me.

I love watching ppl build, rebuild, crash, learn... process is like drag racing. I really enjoy that aspect!

A thread on one of these would be fun to follow for sure!

Same here. But even though it's not my money, I still hate seeing one I have been following through the build process get destroyed. Kevin's current build has 4 Castle XLX2 ESC's in it, costing $2000. Crazy money. That is about the only vids I have watch of Talbot's in the last couple years. And I think that's bevause he took it more serious. Even when he built his off road record holder he didn't seem to be too serious about it.

I was planning planning on buying the Limitless 120 RTR someday although it won't be for awhile. Since i recently preordered my dream transmitter the Spektrum iXSR+ it set me back some big $$$ but i've been waiting over a year to get an iXSR and since the original was discontinued earlier this year but yesterday it got updated and rereleased.

I was kidding about land speed records ,,,( rough crowd ) I’m just saying I’ll be beating any of my speed records , this church parking lot is 4 blocks long , brand new asphalt , and believe it or not, there adding more area right now , I talked with the maintenance guy there all he said was OH COOL !!! Have fun , so I’m gunna , freekn H.H. Sent the wrong color so I’ll have to return it so film at ,,, I’m uh,,,,,,, Don’t know ,, but out of the box ,, ohhhhh H/E double hockey sticks ya it’s a speedster !!!!

Out of all the stuff I own I don’t have a street rc , so I’m all in , I had a infraction and a felony , they were fun fer sure , I’m already checking on tire n wheels options for it , there isn’t any stock tires listed yet , kinda scary

I have been so close to buying an Infraction several times, the only thing stopping me is, it's getting harder for me to find spots to play with my 6S rigs.

I lusted after the Associated SR7 Hoon-stang (actually still do), but I have play-space restrictions as well, so I settled on the 1/10 Apex 2 version.

I'll be honest. If you want to start speedrunning, as great a vehicle as the Limitless is, it is NOT the vehicle you want to start learning with. I don't want to say starting with a Limitless is a "dumb" idea ..but, "it is what it is". Truth be told, is you want to give speedrunning a try, start with something different...for example, something smaller (ex. 1/10 scale), or slower, or wider (thus more stable), etc.

The point is, you want to start with something less expensive, and something that doesn't cost as much to upgrade, or to replace parts as you break them (which WILL happen). Take the time to learn how certain adjustments have different effects on the handling of the vehicle. Once you've taken the time to learn with a smaller scale RC, then you can start moving into larger scale vehicles...or, you can just stock work your original plan, get the Limitless 120 RTR, and start plowing through money faster then your car goes.

I think your typical basher, when trying speed running just wants to break the century mark. Everything that comes after that gets exponentially expensive. You have to be serious to persue the higher numbers.

That being said, I can see the allure of breaking your own record until you can't. I still would like to have a Limitless, but that's because I am not a serious speed chaser, but love following those who do.

It is for thos very reason that I never publish my speeds, or post videos of my speedruns. Those who publish such information are doing it because "they want everyone to know", whereas I do it purely for my own personal enjoyment. I'm not out to break anyone else's record, nor am I out there for anyone to break my records...my achievments are for me.
