Well, I ran my buggy again tonight, but not actually with it traveling,,,I held the wing while goosing the throttle a bit, it is very cool out , so I wasn't worried about the engine running short times, but I should have been worried about the pull cord resting against the header.
It melted about the third time running.

Now, what I need to know is, is there a general difference in pullstart assemblies for hyper 21's and my Hobao/Hyper Mach 28? or can I assume a general interchange-ability?

I'm about to over-night a pull start assembly and I wanted to make sure it will fit. As this coming weekend , if clear will be the first truely clear weekend that I can run this buggy since I've had it.

Upon more observation, I'll repair/rewind my pullcord ass'y, but I'd still like any input as to interchanging pull start assemblies on Ofna .21/.28 engines.

Thanks,

I think the OFNA pull starters are interchangable, along with HPI, and wasp.

Thanks Busted, but, do you "think" or know?

Can you take some detailed pics of this engine, and either email them to me or put them up here. Mach is made by sh, which in turn makes the SH .28, xtm24.7/pro, mach .26, mach .28, and a bunch of other engines. If this is the mach that I am thinking of then I'll lead you in the proper direction. But if I can't see the mill I can't tell you.

Also a part number for the engine from ofna would be great too.

go to ur local hobby shop and ask for a replacement pull start for your engine

I can't speak for jeep, but some of us on RCNT don't have a LHS. The closest place for me to get parts is about 200 miles away, and they don't have much. So when I am in need of a part, or don't know what part I need I ask it here then find the best price on the net.

200 miles? issat all?
when I was yer age we had to walk to the LHS...Uphill.....both ways.....in 5 ft of snow....pffft...sissy man

But at least I can drive 10 minutes and be on a ski hill. :D

LMAO Plaidfish,,,, I know that story bro, and have for many years :),,, ;)

To add in to it,
My Dad always told me that "when Lincoln was a kid, he studied by candle light and would walk a mile to pay back a penny.

How could I not say " well, dad, when Lincoln was your age ,,he was President!"

Here is a link to a pic of my engine, and it's none of the ones mentioned.

By the way,,I've already rewound the PS as I only lost a couple of inches from the melt-down.

HAHA!!

What part melted? The sleave, string, or handle?
- If its got a plastice sleave, you can replace it with some silcon tubing.
- You cna even use std fuel tubing if you patient (quite a task to get the string though it)

When I started it, it was at night on my porch, and not a very bright porch light, and apparently when it started, the pull handle got hung on the rear suspension or somewhere, I didn't look at it, as I was busy trimming the idle since the engine was cold, so, the cord apparently was laying across the header :( lol.
No prob though, even though this is by far the smallest PS I've rewound, it is literally among hundreds, close to a thousand most likely that I've rewound.

Great advice! Why don't you follow it and go to your LHS and ask them for P/S for your Ofna mill, ace? You know, the one you posted needing help finding a website that sold them but never bothered to search for on your own?

Yeah, right! I think Plaid walks only to a select few places:
1. The fridge for another beer.
2. The crapper.

I think Plaids the kind of guy that will order pizza delivered from the Dominos next door!

It seems you can speak quite well for me :)
My "LHS" is about 130-140 miles round trip .
