I wanted to hold out and wait for a PS3. I have PS2 (slim) and thought I could wait a while for the price to come down. Well the bastages are releasing an F1 game and I've got to get one! Anyone know the market for used PS2's? I'd probably have a couple games and a wireless controller to go with it. I've got to have this game!!!!! Ughhhhh

PS2 to the kids???? Friends kids.....?? You cannot expect to sell used electronics and get your postage do you??? I dare say you be will lucky to get $25 for it at a garage sale...no offense, it is just that that stuff looses all of its value the second you take it out of the package.

I hope I am wrong.....this is just my gut...but I have three or four consoles back as my boys have moved up....could not give them to their friends even.

Anyway go get your game....hand this one down and move on....;)

BTW I am a BF2 nut and ended up just buying a whole new computer....just to play the game ....so I feel the itch........just scratch it already.:wasted:

Ps2's are really hurting in bringing in some dough. Like talon said best best is to just pass it down to the kids or family member/friends kid. I just saw one sell (on a auto forum I frequent) that was a slim system, 2 controllers, a mem card and 6 games for $100 ( and that even didnt sell real quick). Pretty sad actually. I have a 360 and I still play my ps2 more..lol..
I've played the ps3 a little bit and it was pretty awesome. I guess the blue ray in it is a really good blue ray too. I'm holding out for the price to go down a little bit as well, but from the looks of it, and how the other units prices had stayed the same, I think it might be a while..

my brother just bought a ps3, I'm anxious to try it out. He's just going to keep the ps2 because like what was said above you wo'nt get squat for it.

Jet I might be interested in some of the games ya got. Ya got some of the mobster ones dont ya?? (Godfather, sopranos..) Lemme know.

Hi,

As with most electronics, the depreciation and resale (private party) rates are horrible since almost everyone had a PS2 at some point. To make lemonade from the lemons, you can try GameStop or other stores of that sort where they have trade-in programs and then you can swap out the PS2, games, etc for credit towards other games....That way you can still get something back in the end.

Kids, you been talking to my wife? Everyone is ganging up on me now. I would like for it to stay kid as in the singular version but I'm either going to have to give in or end up in divorce court. My daughter is five and not much the gamer but she does kickbox now so there's hope on that front. Now, I can always stick it in the pit trailer once I get it finished. I'll figure it out, I just want this frickin f1 game!

I have had my PS2 since the day they came out and it has been a trooper. Now, several years later, the cover is missing, the disc tray does not open and I have to fiddle with the laser eye to not get the DRE's

I am actually looking for a PS2, but I have heard the slims are prone to overheating quite often. Anyone know for sure?

And BTW, PS2's ARE getting a bit outdated, but her in Fort Worth there are still none on the shelves. I mentioned I am looking for one, and I have been. I have been to Wal-Mart, Best Buy, the works and have still yet to find one. Even my local game stops are fresh out. The refurbed systems start at around a bill, anything new is significantly more tho. Pawn shops will quote less, but you get what you pay for.

I only wanted to keep it at one kid as well.

I lost.

My new 335 turned into another freakin sedan or the X3, I keep threatening to stand in front of the airplane with the wow breaker pulled and the weather radar in the on position holding a bag of microwave popcorn so when it's starts popping I know I'm "cooked".

I keep going to the website and looking at the trailer and screenshots and drooling.

I saw the demo of the game in Target this weekend then looked down an saw 4 PS3's in the display case.

Man did I want that system bad. Just can't bring myself to pay $599 for it. I wish they had one without the Blue Ray player that I could give a rats ass about.

Still trying to find a Wii locally. Promised the kids I would get one.

Wii

Rules....

I did consider the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii this time around. And for a family system, the Wii is awesome. I'm not sure there will be a lot of hardcore titles for it. Nintendo has always seemed to keep the content pretty friendly. But they do have a few FPS already. And they are coming out with Manhunt 2 on Wii. So they're trying to appeal to all gamers. I really like it. My arms were killing me for the first few days wiht that damn Wii Sports.

I love my PS3, although the only games I have are Full Auto 2, and Resistence Fall of Man. They are fun. The games to come should be killer. The graphics potential of this system are amazing. I am also waiting for the F1 game (Formula 1 Championship, I believe) and a bunch of others. Gran Turismo HD is looking good too.

You better do it now....or you will do later anyway....and be that much older.....just make sure she knows, she takes the extra load......worked for me. ;)

But I like my toys! Yes, I am selfish on this one! LOL

Rob I know what you mean, screw the blueray.

Candyman, have you tried the boxing on the Wii? It's the only one that interests me right now but a couple guy I train with said if you try to fight like we do it gets all jazzed up.

Since I just plunked down for the new pit trailer, I'm in a spending kinda mood, might swing through best buy on the way home! DOH!!!!!

Gotta have your toys, man. I bought my Wii hiding behind the old "but the kids will love it" excuse. Yeah, right. Try getting those controllers out of my hands you little bastards! Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Addicting as all hell. You should see how funny I look when I do the fishing sim in that game! But swinging that sword is awesome! No button pushing here. Just wind up on the bad guys and let them eat steel.
I like the boxing. Man, I hurt myself a lot playing that one. It is sluggish. Can't go ballistic or it will get wonky. I can only imagine that someone is developing a perfect boxing/fighting sim for it. Those controllers have so much potential that I can only imagine what they'll come up with.

Just picked up F1 Championship for PS3 tonight. I will report on how it is tomorrow.

Sorry Jet, for the late response. I haven't really gotten a chance to play much. The game is pretty fun (I'm not into the whole F1 thing, like you are, but I do like playing it). The graphics don't look to be the best on my tv (only 720p). But, if you do get a ps3, get an HDMI cable to go with it. It comes with a wimpy little composite setup (yes, just like the ps2 uses), and makes everything look really bad. The HDMI helped a TON! Already watched a couple blu-rays, but they still don't look like they should on my tv, again, only 720p. These computer monitors will support the 1080p, and should make it look that much better.

The games I currently have are: Call of Duty 3, Full Auto 2, F1 Championship, and Resistance fall of man. All of those are keepers for me. I don't dislike any of them. I'm actually stuck to full auto right now. Reminds me of Twisted Metal.
