I think you will find from the thread that the car is very good out of the box, and like any kit initially we had a few minor problems which have been resolved. In the initial kits, the driveshaft pins came out prematurely due to the loctite, and because 2 setscrews were used. I believe the new kits only come with one. If you purchase one and it has 2 setscrews just remove one and loctite it. The car comes with an excellent radio and a really good motor. I race for them but I use a different motor for competition. I do hear that the motor is very good. It comes with good diff oil and shock oil, but for our tracks it may be a bit soft. I would recommned Losi 50wt for the front and the rear and move the shocks one hole in on the arms (F/R). Besides the pins, the only other thing you may want to do is replace the clutch shoes, the stock ones are a little on the soft side. I use the Kyosho shoes with Mugen 1.0 springs. Others have tried the Mugen shoes and like them as well.
As far as the customer service goes, I have heard it is Excellent. Cameron and Roger are available at Happy Time hobbies and those guys are great. I am a bit biased because I run for them, but I can tell you that they can answer any questions or concerns.
All in all the car is great and handles very good, and with the few modifications that I mentioned, you can have a competitive buggy for under 500 bucks, not bad.
