xxxzayas, I'm ordering the car Monday. The first thing I'm planning on doing is changing the shock oils and pistons/springs, what size pistons are good starting points? What companies springs and pistons are compatable Kyosho, Mugen, or Ofna? I have a lot of questions and haven't even ordered the car yet, just getting everything ready. This is the last question, I want to relube the diffs what viscosities front center and rear? Thanks I know who to come to for answers...

wow talk about ripping people off this place sucks in price.check out there price on the ofna 9.5 v 659. what the hell are they smoken. i mean drop the pipe man wow.....sevenin1 you are getting burned bad....
read my whole post. how is $399 rtr getting burned. in my post I wrote there prices are lower in store than online. I should say WAY lower. he asked for the price one the swift, and $399 seems to be one of the lowest I've heard of. if he calls, I'm sure he can get the instore price. I'm not sure why there online prices are so high. oh and the price in store for the 9.5 is 379 or 399 I believe.

OK Day two. Now that I have Loctited all the CVD's I went out to run and one of the Steering bearings is shot. It shreded??? How does that happen? On top of that the servo stripped out. GREAT. I am running on pavement without curbs and breaking in the car how on earth do you strip a servo and a bearing breaking in an motor?

I upgraded the servo to a Hitech 645MG hopfully that will take the abuse.

I guess you guys were not kidding about that servo. Why even put it in if that is the case.

hey guys! been enjoying my swift for awhile now with no major problems xcept for pins coming loose. i changed the motor out with a ws72 and took the carb restrictor out boy does it move.the guys who sell the engines at pdl racing even offer a breaking in process with computers so when you get the engine you r ready to go.

hey guys i also went with the blue kanai springs. the only other thing besides the engine changed was an ofna 086 pipe. k&n air filter and a jr 8450 steering servo. also the fuel filter with the primer ball is pretty cool to.

it really ssccccrrreeeeaaaammmmmmsssss!!!!!!

SparkyMaxx:

You are right, the site is a bit weak on the support side of things, but I can guarantee you that you will see changes soon. You will see stuff as setup and I will have them post some tips. I will keep everyone posted.

gscoobydoo2:
I run the stock pistons with 55 wt. in the front and 50 wt. in the rear. I also use Kyosho blue springs. Once you get it let me know and I can post a setup.

To all: If you guys want I can post a good setup for the car, let me know.

RB WS72 is way too powerfull for the SWIFT. Unless you replace all these parts below with Kyosho or OFNa parts or wait for improved swift parts, you will see your engine put all these parts to pieces:
1. clutch bell
2. diff gears (all front, center and rear)
3. diff outdrives
4. CVJ dogbones

I should know.... it all happened to my Swift and it has been on pits for 2 months now waiting for hardened gears and outdrives to come out. Until then i'll just be running my Kyosho Kanai 3.

well thanks for the advice I'm going to look into replacing the parts you listed . i also run a k3. swift is just a back up and just going out and having fun buggy

xxxzayas, ordering springs will the Kanai 3 blue frt. and rear springs directly fit and should I run the same oil combo as you instructed with stock pistons?

xxxzayas, when I order the buggy tomorrow should it have all the updated running changes, what should I ask for to make sure, and will screws fit on the car from an MBX5 want to order stainless set? Thanks for all your help can't wait!!!

Asar: I agree with you that initially there were some problems with the parts you listed, but I can tell you that PRP is always looking to improve things. I son't know how long you have been in the hobby, but you probably know that all kits have issues on the first outing. There is only so much the drawings can tell you. With that said I can tell you that I have tested new gears, new outdrives and new drive shafts, and they are all excellent. I am not 100% sure, but I think the new kits are coming with the new gears. The outdrives and the dogbones are in manufacturing. I do know that PRP will replace one set of outdrives for free. As far as the clutch goes like I mentioned before it is soft, and I recommend replacing it.

As far as the WS7 being to much I disagree, I have ran a P5, WS7, and a VZB, and the car handles great. I apologize for the long winded reply, but I hope this helps.

SparkyMaxx: I will post the setup, by tomoroow for sure, I am a bit tight on time right now, but by tomorrow it will be up, thanks for the inquiry. As far as parts from other buggies that I am running, the only thing is Mugen MBx4 front top a-arm. They give the car less caster, hence higher corner speed. I just received new top a-arms to test from PRP, I will keep everyone posted.

gscoobydoo2: The springs are a direct replacement, between most 1/8th scales, and yes the Kyosho ones work. As far as the screws go, I am not sure all of them will work, but they both use metric screws so most will.

Well I feel like I can post a positive note now. I just got back from the track and had a couple guys take a close look at the car. They were all pretty impressed with it.

When I brought it onto the track. It was a good feel, well balanced on the jumps. Landed most of them solid. Need some new springs and a shock rebuild thought had a bit of slap. There were also some comments on handling and I traded off for a couple of others to try out.

Nothing broke and the car ran great. The one problem I had was keeping the muffler on. Is there a reason that we use tie wraps instead of hose clamps on the muffler? I noticed EVERYONE uses tie wraps and I was just wondering why? I could not cinch it down enought to keep in connected for more than a few laps.

Is there a front swaybar available for the Swift yet? If not, are you using one XXXZAYAS?

SparkyMaxx: There is a f. swaybar for the car and yes I do use it. Check the happy time website for the part number, if you can't find it I will try to get it for you.

Sparky, I've had problems with other gas cars mufflers coming off. Take the muffler off and get a large philips screwdriver and put a bevel on the muffler itself all the way around. Clean the coupler off with hot soapy water and dry problem solved...

Good tip scoob! I will give that a whirl.

I will have to order that front sway as well. Thanks guys.

I look forward to the setup Zayas...

To all: Here's the Setup, let me know if you have any questions. The only diference in my car from the kit are the Top front A-arms, which are Mugen MBX4 and the shock tower which are prototypes from Titan Tech, and you can see you them in Car Action under the Nitro Challenge write up. They will also be in the new RC Car. I think PRP will start distributing them. Any way here is the setup.

xxxzayas, ordered car today from LasVegas I asked them if they had the second run of cars from power racing and weren't aware of any. I called Happy Hobbies and she said they have been shipped out to suppliers. I was told the updated batch are shipped with a red white and yellow or orange body, can you verify that, Vegas said they placed the order with them as I got off the phone and said that those were the newer cars. Thanks for the set up...

gscoobydoo2: Glad to hear you order the car, let me know if I can help you in any way. I know the first batch had white, silver, and black body. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the setup tips Zayas. Keep us posted with what you find that you like and dislike as you go along.

Hey Do you have any contact with Happy Time? I shot them an e-mail about the kit I got and never got a response... Just wondering. I used your name thinking that you knew someone there. LMK if you would. Thanks

SparkyMaxx: Call them and ask for Cameron. He was at a race last week which is probably why you couldn't get a hold of him. Mention my name when you call him and he should be able to help you out.
