Hello all, the clutch is starting to fade in the buggy. What are you guys using as an upgrade? Does PRP have an upgraded Clutch?

Thanx in advance
Xtribe00

I'm using the mugen black clutch with a 14 tooth kyosho clutch bell. I ran it today ( 10 tanks ) and the clutch still looks new. Oh, I also jumped the car 6 times getting about 20 feet in the air and landed on both tires ( with lots of throttle control and brake ). Nothing broke on my swift. We were jumping off one of the berms at a local off-road track and we were landing about 20-25 feet out. If you fell short, then you've would've landed on a slap of concrete protruding out of the dirt :hehe: .

HPInvent, will the Mugen front Knukle arms fit the Swift? Had a bad accident today :)

The top front arm off of a MBX-4 will fit. The bottom will not. I haven't tried the front knuckles yet though. Thats something to look into.

Outdrives

Hi everyone! Just wanted to ask, how are your diff outdrives holding? I am not sure whether the new hardened outdrives are already out in LHS or any replacement part from other buggies wuld fit.

asar,

We are currently working on new outdrives and they should be available soon. I will keep everyone posted.

Jose

To all:

If you have any questions regarding the Swift buggy post them here, I finally have access to the forum. Thanks

Jose is our #1 driver. His word is gospel.

We're off to the U.S. Gas Off-Road Championships today (this race name sounds like a followup to an eating contest...), but Jose can't make it. We'll do our best against the regulars!

Nice thread guys, I have a question I used to race a MBX5 but sold it and got a MST1. I got to race an 1/8th scale last weekend and I'm hooked again!!! The Swift looks like an awesome car and I need something RTR thats competitive with a competitive price. How is the included motor? Does it have good factory support? Anddo I need a lot to becompetitive? Thanks for your help...

I think you will find from the thread that the car is very good out of the box, and like any kit initially we had a few minor problems which have been resolved. In the initial kits, the driveshaft pins came out prematurely due to the loctite, and because 2 setscrews were used. I believe the new kits only come with one. If you purchase one and it has 2 setscrews just remove one and loctite it. The car comes with an excellent radio and a really good motor. I race for them but I use a different motor for competition. I do hear that the motor is very good. It comes with good diff oil and shock oil, but for our tracks it may be a bit soft. I would recommned Losi 50wt for the front and the rear and move the shocks one hole in on the arms (F/R). Besides the pins, the only other thing you may want to do is replace the clutch shoes, the stock ones are a little on the soft side. I use the Kyosho shoes with Mugen 1.0 springs. Others have tried the Mugen shoes and like them as well.

As far as the customer service goes, I have heard it is Excellent. Cameron and Roger are available at Happy Time hobbies and those guys are great. I am a bit biased because I run for them, but I can tell you that they can answer any questions or concerns.

All in all the car is great and handles very good, and with the few modifications that I mentioned, you can have a competitive buggy for under 500 bucks, not bad.

I am not sure, but I know that Happy Time has a list of hobby shops that carry the products.

My lhs has them for $399, I am pretty sure they will ship it also. I have one I am selling without the radio gear. It's practically new.

Whats the number and name of your LHS Thanks? I have a couple more questions for you guys. Is the newer kit the kit with the blue motor heatsink? I was wondering should I wait for the pro model or could I just upgrade the regular swift to pro specs? Is the pro model going to be RTR or just go with the RTR now.Thanks...

It will probably be a liitle while for the Pro kit. If anything late summer, but I can't guarantee anything. The current kits will be upgradable to the pro kit. I hope this helps.

New Swift

Just thought that I would join the club. I got my swift today Ran 4 tanks through with out hitting the throttle. It is tough being patient... Then I tuned it up a bit. I did not want to push it too hard. I know to locktite everything. I am going to get the new servo once it breaks.

Whatelse? Any tricks before I continue to tune? Any other suggestions?

Wagnerov

Reading the posts I would like to know what the new stuff coming out for the car will be and when it will be available? One post stated 12 upgrades coming. What will they be?

What is the pro kit going to offer in addition to the normal kit?

I got a second run kit and lost a Drive pin in the first 12 minutes after break in of the motor.

All in all love the car. Got it Tuned quick and easy. I had an experenced Nitro guy help me tune but I am new to Nitro buggies. This is the first one. Hopefully this will be the winner.

Thanks guys just read the April article in RC Car awesome review, ordering one next week. Thanks for helping me make my decision...

Sparky, how did you guys break in the motor, were stock needle settings close?

Yeah at stock it started right up. Don't throttle it though just let 'r idol. I let it run 4 tanks though on idol. Then tweeked the HIGH END mix a 8th to get the motor from running so rich. That got it so I could use the throttle and drive it a bit. After that I just kept going an 8th until i was happy with where it sat for break in. I also tweaked the Low end needle so the get up from a stop was quicker. After I was about to go to the next step of the HIGH END I lost the Drive Train Pin... :( Oh well nothing that can't happen in the morning. Now everything is Loctited.

Is there an official Swift web site?

Where can we get specific diagrams or blowups of portions of the car?

SparkyMaxx:

As far as the pro kit goes, like I mentioned it will be a few months for it. You can expect new towers, suspension mounts, and many other things. As far as the website goes go to www.happytimehobby.com, Cameron the team manager will be updating it with my setup and pictures soon. let me know if you have any questions.

gscoobydoo2:

You will enjoy the car, let me know if I can help you with anything.

XXXZayas:
I hope that the site is under construction because it is not very impressive currently. If that would serve as the offical Swift or PRP site then I would think they would have things like PDF Manuals, Top Tips,, new accessories, Tuning tips ect for the car. That just looks like a distribution site to me not too much more.

Don' t mean to be negative. I was just expecting it easier to find information on this car and reading the posts it sounds as if it could be very benifical to PRP to do a message board of there own or at least a list of neat tricks to help you out. Racing season is starting and I would hate PRP to get a bad rap because of Loctite.
