Yeah i believe thats all it really does, super charger on 2.5 amounts to 3.3, skip the supers and nos, as well as the 3.3, 4.6 big block should do just fine :)

Insane Rigs

Those are some insane rigs, what all does it take to get and run the nos? I could never fix my rig up like that, looks like alot of money, plus i only run my maxx off road, would not do me any good to fancy it. They are crazy though, why no super charger?

That might look pretty that's because I keep up on Keeping them clean after a day of bashing them and let me tell you it's hard to break them.To much to mess around with a supercharger. My buddy got one on his t maxx and it was nothing but problems. You ain't seen nothing yet check out my profile pics.

yeah, if you see the pics of mine, its not too shabby :) alot of it is still stock except for engine parts and some small things, I'm getting there, can be costly, i have debated on beefing up the maxx or getting something a little different to beef up like revo or jato, i love my maxx for off road through the woods and deep mud, really don't ever run in sand or the street, i am excited to get a good big block going, still on the 2.5r right now, have a couple engines need rebuilds, i would like to get some 7" tires or "big joes" hope to have some vids of mud drags this summer, trying to inspire my area to get going with them, not a lot of people around here interested...

A big block is a good idea.I have had a picco .26 and a sirio .27 and I loved the sirio motor lots of power and easy to tune. The picco I bought first it ran good for a while and then took a crap. Now I got a dynamite .28 for my t maxx this summer seems like the most for my buck

On the BB subject and Picco's, I run a Picco .26 in the RCPF's Maxx and this thing screams....Just sharin' :p:

I can't wait to get a good big block going, what all does it take to run a big block, say my maxx is regular size not a extended chassis, what would i need to fit the bb engine on there? I've read things like extended chassis or engine bracket.....

Best bet would be to go get a 4907 or 4908 t maxx chassis and chassis braces and some center driveshafts for that chassis and you would be set!

So, going back to my roll cage, and how i made a body out of it using plastic and camo duct tape, zip ties and others, well, yesterday, i finished off my fuel the other day, an old metal can of traxxas 1-gal, and i was like,...hmm...what can we do with that? Well here it is, working progress, almost done, will have an update when i am done, it will be painted and finished up to look all pretty, holy cow talk about using all reasonable sources hehe :):)

tomorrow I'm doing white duel pin stripes, and it also has two bars that cover the back, some decals and air ducks, all metal, made with my empty nitro fuel can, and i ran out of metal with that, so i took down another no trespassing sign :) ill have some more pics when i have the stripes n such...

haha yea nedly it is believe me i want to run this thing so bad:D I'm just scared about the cold weather and getting the piston to set right and all that good stuff

You can't put a true big block on a maxx without having a chassis that's extended in the rear or moving the transmission forward. It makes no difference what chassis it is they just won't bolt in without alot of hassle. The sirio s27 and picco 26 mid blocks are plenty powerful and can go on any stock chassis.

Racendad make sure you put a sock or tape over the cooling head for break-in. You want the engine to get between 190 and 220 degrees or it could blow a conrod. You also need it to be rich at the same time......Don't lean it to reach temperature.
It's very tough to do in the cold and is hard on an engine.

well there is an idea! give the engine a good knitted jacket :whhooo: that is an idea though, what 2revo said, give the engine some isolation, a sock or two is a really good idea, or something along those lines, and thanks 2revo1maxx, for the info, i am going to look into that and see about that being my next big upgrade so thanks!! :):first_place:

I don't know much about temps, never had the luxury of having the gauge, but he did say you want it somewhere between 190-220, youtube and google it.....

190-220 is the ideal temp range for break-in. The chrome plated brass sleeve is tapered, and will expand more than the aluminum piston, which makes the engine turn freely. Too cold and the rod can break.

Hey i have a question for everyone.....you see in revo pics....how the exhaust actually sits in the rear, is there a header pipe you can get for the t-maxx that will allow the exhaust to sit in the rear on top of the rear bumper...??? i think that design is awesome!

There are complete systems for that. Some are dual exhaust, unfortunately the dual exhausts are no good, but a single outlet would work.

The biggest problem with it is most of them suck the life out of the engine and get ruined really easy. I would stick with the side exhaust if I was you. That is unless looks are more important than performance...I think they look cool too but....
