I have a JR XS3 and a while back the thottle would open to 3/4 immediately no matter how easy I was on the trigger. So I learned about TDB and EPA. I just put a Novak Rx in to save space, and still using the XS3 for a Tx now the brake is doing the same thing. The TDB seems to be doing its job, but the EPA seems to do nothing. Any ideas?

I suppose you have the manual and know how to access the menu. The EPA, or end point adjustment, determines how far the servo will travel in each direction. You need to turn the Radio and Rx on, access the menu, then raise or lower it till you get it where you want. If, on the maximum setting, it won't adjust to the distance you need, then you'll have to make a mechanical adjustment.

That is the problem. The EPa adj. makes no differace for the brakes. It works for throttle, and steering though. The only way I get brakes is to turn up the TDB. Then I have no control with my Tx. Only on or off.

I think you've just gotten things too far out of adjustment. Go into the menu and return all the settings to neutral. ALL the settings. This is Major important. If you are not sure, go to your manual. Now, does the throttle servo move in both directions? If it does, this is where you make your End Point Adjustments. If you can't get throttle and brake to work properly now, you need to make a mechanical adjustment to the linkages.

You might have to go one notch back on the servo horn on the throttle servo.

I think Rolex has it for now. Go back into the menu and set everything at neutral. Including trim, EPA, and anyting else. Then fire up the tx and rx. Remove the servo horns from your servos and test the servo action. Then set the servo horns back on the servos so that throttle is at idle and steering is pretty much centered. Test to see if you get full throttle and brake. Then I'd start by adjusting the linkage accordingly. Usually you can only gain a little by using EPA so I'd focus on the mechanical linkage first.

I'll try it, and let you know. Thanks for the help.

I reset every thing to 0 and started over. Still no luck. I don't see how it would matter, but do you think it has anything to do with the mechanical linkage? I'm telling you, it's as if everything works but the EPA for the brakes.

With the control horn removed, make sure that the servo for throttle/brake moves equally in both directions. Set the centering of that servo to 0.
Reattach the control horn and see if you can get it to apply the correct pressure to the brakes. If not, you need to adjust it on the brake linkage. All setups (mechanical) should be done with the radio settings at neutral. The TDB and EPA should just be used for fine tuning. Closing the throttle to idle without bending the control rod from too much servo travel, or going to WOT without pulling more than it needs, is an example of what the end point adjustment is for.

OK, let me put it this way. Without TDB being at say 40 to 60% I have no brakes, and no matter what the TDB is set at the EPA adjustment doesn't work. I've tried is with the servo horn off, and on. I went threw the whole menu on the transmitter. Nothing helps. Set it all back to 0, even went to an un used model number, and tried it. Maybe this is normal, but I don't think so. Next, unless any of you have any other ideas, I am going to use another Tx, and if it works I'll probably throw mine out the window, and buy another one.

When you try to adjust the brake end point, do you have the trigger fully engaged to brake? Sometimes the adjustment only works while in the function you are trying to adjust.
I think you are missing something here, and there's really no problem with your radio. Do you have a track nearby where you can have someone check it out for you? If not, try a LHS and see if they can figure it out.

Yes. when the XS3 Tx menu is on throttle/brake EPA you have to touch the brake to adjust the EPA, and the same for the TDB. Otherwise it adjusts the throttle. I was just blowing off steam. I'm not really going to throw the Tx away, but I might buy a new one. I was thinking of the M8. First though I know a couple people with both, and I think I will see if they will let me try it on another model they don't use to see what happens.

Still can't figure it out, and now I have another problem. My new Dynomite failsafe failed. It worked for a second or to because I lost control, and it hit the brakes and stopped. I walked over to it, and it took off. over the jumps, scaling the fence, over some more jumps, threw the yard, and into a pine tree. Riped the whole left front suspension, and wheel off. Busted my almost new K3 shocks. Any thoughts on what went wrong? I followed the instructions on how to set it up, and it worked at first.
