I am looking to buy a used Revo with a .26 and I am completely new to nitro engines. The seller said, "I do the same break in for every new motor i get. I run 2 tanks at idle keeping the temp at 160 to 175. then when thats done i run 4 tanks doing figure 8s never going past half throttle." Does this sound like a legitimate break in procedure or can I expect poor compression?

Thanks.

alot of peaple have different break in methods and some are so different than others. but yes this is one way and yes it should be broke in decent. but when you get it be sure to do it your way also. do some research and pick a method that sounds good to you. and the link that suicide supplied will work as well. after doing a few you will also choose your own method that works for you too. good luck man:)

170 sounds really cold to me. Won't allow adequate sleeve expansion. You should keep it around 200 at least.
