I just bought the mgt and a freind of mine bought the E rustler he is tring to keep up in speed. he bought a 13t mod motor ,streak ESC that handles up to 12t,bigger pinion gear and a 3000 venom pack the truck is alot faster but his run time is vey short and battery is so hot u can barely touch it. can anybody help so he can run a little longer but maintain some speed not to fast though I like running over him with my truck LOL thanks for any help.

You typically need to go smaller on the pinion with more rpm's. Use the size pinion that puts the motor into it's "power band" for the type racing you are doing. The motor and the battery should both then cool off from the lesser amp draw.

He will need to go brushless if he wants to run fast and reliable, he will also get better run times. Low turn motor don't last very long before they need to be rebuilt.

yea a smaller pinion would help you keep your batteries cooler.
