Hi everybody,

I'm new to this whole rc forum thing, but i have been playing with rc for a while, but lately i've been having problems try to tune/ break in the gs21r that came with my Kyosho mp-6 sports( which i bought 3 years ago, but never ran). I was wondering if anyone could give me some help....
The engine feels very sluggish off the start and a lof of excess gas comes out the exhaust, but i'm afraid to lean it out too much.. the stock preset is set at 2 and 3/4 turns out, how much should i lean it out??? Keep in mind i want my engine to last at least 1-3 years.

thanks for the help

well you should read the instrustions that came with your engine for the break in ... but when you break a engine in the whole point it is run it rich and slowly lean it out over the course of at least 6 tanks. Please keep in mind that every break in is different for every engine. so to anwser your question your engine should be slow and sluggish for a few tanks.

Thanks for joining the fourms

the needles sometimes do not come preset from the factory, just keep playing with them until it's running good.

OH, i forgot, if you're breaking it in, that's how it's supposed to be on the 1st 2-4 tanks. totally normal, happened to everybody :)

thanks guys,
yeah i know that i should lean it out slowly but the instructions are not too clear about what is the most i should lean it out and in addition to this i've run 3-4 tanks already yet i do not feel a power difference

just gradually lean it out, just make sure temps are in check (if you've got a temp gun) and that there's a good stream of blue smoke coming out of the exhaust.
