I know I've posted this before with pretty much no responce to it, but i thought i would try again. I'm in desperate search for a spur gear for a kyosho outlaw rampage, I've looked everywhere i can possibally(sp) think of, and yes i know the "search method is my friend", i know the truck is vintage but the lil truck is really fun to bash around with, i was wondering if i could maybe send the plastic one somwhere to get a metal one made instead of using the plastic one. anyone ever done that befroe?

I"m not familliar with this truck. I would look at tower hobbies, they have stuff for just about anything. i would also look for something that could take its place. Is this a 1/10 scale truck? 2wd? Nitro or electric?

its really vintage kyosho, towerhobbies has just about everything else for this truck exept the spur gear becuz alot of other kyosho cars and trucks still use the same parts, but the spur is discontinued, and i have only been able to find one since i stripped the last one and it was on ebay and i missed the auction ending,

I'm thinking along the same lines as vb. Post a pic of the gear if you can. We may not be able to find the exact same one, but with so many cars and gears out there, there's a good shot that there might be one in use on another model that may work.

its about 1 5/8" wide lil under 1/4" thick

here is the truck

well...I don't have that truck. I may have the spur but I'll have to check when I get home from work. If you have a LHS I would bring it there and ask if they have something similar that would fit. That would prob be your best bet. But I'll chekc when I get home later.

yea I've tried the lhs idea and they werent all that willing to help becuz the truck is so old, I'm really leaning toward the idea of having a metal one made, but i know thats gonna be pricey, well I'm off to work thanks for the help check back later

Boy, that is an old bird... I've been google'ing it for a little while and the only info I find is old info.

Any way you can take a larger pic of the spur, both sides and where it connects to the trans? It may give us a better shot at helping you with things that "might" work. These images are just too small to see any detail that we would need to eyeball other alternatives for you since the parts don't get manufactured anymore. Getting one spur will only last you a weekend... finding an alternate source will last you a lot longer.

The teeth on that spur really looks like buggy pitch (1M i think). It looks similar to my RC-Solutions 1/8 maxx gear:

I know it won't work for you, but it might be somewhere else to look. Any idea what the real tooth pitch is of that gear?

i have no idea what it is, but the truck is accually a model up from the kyosho rampage buggy, the gears are very similar but they dont work I'm gonna take some pics of the drivetrain to see if that will help you guys, what about my idea of haveing a metal one made, i know it can be done but its gonna cost me.
