lets all ban rc car gas untill they lower the 26$ a gallon price lol i can't afford it!! ahhhhhhhhhhh and people say normal fuel is expensive

I had a LHS that was really overcharging me and I didn't know it... depeding on what fuel it is, $26 isn't bad. Mine was charging me $34 for trinity mhp 20%. Now I shop elsewhere and get it for $24.

i wonder if a company would be smart enough to pick up a gas pump fuel/ oil mix high performance rc engine? if it possible? they could make big off that

LOL...they have. They are called 1/5 scale and typically run off of weedwacker engines (your high performance auto gas/oil mixture engine).

Search the web for 4 stroke engines to be used in 8th and 10th scale cars. I'm pretty certain they exist.

I'm pretty sure the reason for the high price is the old supply and demand thing. There aren't that many companies that produce the raw nitromethane and methyl alcohol. I think full scale race cars (like top fuel dragsters and such) burn methyl, and they pay top dollar for the good stuff. I'd have to do some digging, but I'm almost dead sure that Byrons, Morgans, Trinity, BT, and all the rest of the brands buy the components from one or two large plants that make the components, they just blend the stuff and slap a label on it. Oh, and as for jacking up the prices, you also have to factor in all the HazMat fees for all of it too. Granted, that shop sounded like it was raping folks on the price, but I seriously doubt it will ever come down below $15/gal unless you're buying it in 55 gallon drums.

No one said this hobby is cheap. I don't know about you but I can typically go a month (+/-) on one gallon of fuel. To me that doesn't seem that bad. Matter of fact I just bought a gallon of fuel for $24.95.

I have heard there is only one plant in the US that makes nitro, and they are the only supply for europe too. I think it is more tightly regulated since MCvey used it in the OK City bomb, so maybe no one else bothers. But that is all hearsay, and I could just be talking right out my ass....

I agree, if you can't afford it you shouldn't be in the hobby. May sound like I'm being an butthead but it's true.

I'm fine with not being able to afford it... i wait to get fuel.. but its probly one of the highest liquids price per gallon beside alcohalic beverages

$20/gal for Byron 2500 25%. I think that's good.

Has anyone else seen this new fuel, White Lightning? It's supposed to be some serious race fuel. I saw it in the new Tork catalog. THEY WANT $103/GAL FOR THIS STUFF!!!!! Damn. It better cook, clean and wipe my butt for that price....

Trinity Monster, or Blue Thunder. $26 a gallon, 20%.
Seems expensive for just a gallon, but I'm getting pretty good milage.
Your milage may vary.

i get my byron race fuel 20% for i think 26 bucks a gallon. i get a gallon maybe once every month or so when i drive my savage.
