Other then Tower I cannot find another site that has all the parts I need to start rebuilding my Inferno. My buggy decided to play chicken at WOT with a huge metal dumpster last week and lost.

(Remember to zip tie your batteries into the battery holder)

Anyway, so does anyone out there have any other sites that have a good deal of parts for the inferno?

This is what I need to replace:
Upper A arm
Lower A arm
Hing pin
Dog bone
Shock body
Shock shaft
Lower spring clip
Ball cup for steering linkage
Right side mud guard

I'm thinking that while I'm at it I might as well go to Universal Swing Shafts all around, CVDs if I can find them, upgrade to a 3-shoe alum clutch shoes which means a new flywheel as well, drop to a 12 tooth clutch bell and change to a steel spur gear.

Anything else you guys can think of as a "worth the $$" upgrade?

I had the same thing happen to me bro the second time out with my Storm. I came off the table top, hit my son in the knee. It was at full tilt when the battery came loose and if it wasn't for a bank of dirt, my list of broken parts might have looked like yours. Luckily all I did was kick a whole bunch of dirt up. I bought a failsafe the next day. Some guys swear by them, some guys have never had the need for one. I suppose if you properly secure the batteries and make sure they're always fresh, you might not need a failsafe. But murphy's law says (you know), and if spending a few dollars on something that might save what is now worth thousands of dollars, I'll do it. You might also want to swap that stock battery pack for a 5 cell Nicd of Nimh hump pack.

Yeah I have a failsafe but it doesn't do anything if there is no power. A failsafe only protects you against losing radio signal. There are only two possible reasons for losing signal, distance or dead batts in your radio. It doesn't help at all if you loose receiver power.

The only things that would have saved me would have been if the dumpster wasn't there or if I had a throttle return spring. Well, ok. There are two more parts to add to the list of upgrades/replacment parts:

Hi Torque Throttle Servo
and
Throttle Return Spring.

I'm still researching hump packs. I want a 2400+Mah pack. ElPirata put me onto a link and so far its top pick but I'm still looking. Now that the buggy is outof commission for a while there is no rush there.

not to go off topic, but they make hump packs that high? a 2400mah nimh pack would last for like months lol. thats a huge jump from the "standard" 1100mah.

robriguez - I'm sorry i can't help you out with where to buy since I'm in australia, but any chance you might have some photos of the damage? just curious to see where things break, as i *crosses fingers* havent found out yet through experience. I've wot/curbed my 75 a few times due to radio gear screwups, but the worst I've done is ruined my bumper and stripped a few stock servos...

I think the best solution is to double, and triple check everything in your radio gear. Make sure reciever crystal, and plugs are secured down, batteries are ziptied down, and theres plenty of foam stuffed in the boxes to keep things bouncing around. Also making sure no wires are in a position to get chomped (near spurgear...) etc. The failsafe/TRS is just extra protection/insurance, not a solution.

Hey robriguez, do a search on ebay for parts. There are usually a few guys on there that break down kits and sell the parts seperately. I would go ahead and upgrade with Kanai parts. You can probably get the K2 parts just as cheap or cheaper on ebay than you could get the standard parts in your LHS or online.

Yeah I've been looking on ebay alot....only one I found as a kit ended just as I was about to bid. (found tons of other kewl crap to buy tho)

From what i can see, the Kanai suspension parts are the same except for the universal shafts and the tie rod ends have a small hex nut in the center to make adjustments easier.

I saw some TI hing pins (or whatever the shaft/post/bar is called that hold the lower arm onto the frame) somewhere but can't find them again....I'm still looking. If I order everything from Tower its gonna be close to $200 for the needed parts and the wanted upgrades. With things being real tight right now I'm trying to save anywhere I can.

yeah also the best way to empty your bank account. Don't get me wrong, the new Fio' Ultra-Racing line is sick, but reading his original post, he just wants to fix his car..... and little (or none..) of what is broken is made by Fioroni anyway.

rob - yeah most of the K2 suspension parts are the same as the regular/sports/ke1, so make sure you dont pay more for anything on ebay because its badged as "K2".

The front universals are probably a good idea, they should make things a lot smoother in the steering department, and should also take a huge beating before giving up. There not so 'needed' on the other points, but at the front is a smart way to go.

Also, I'm running the K2 turnbuckles all round (the threaded rod that joins the upper arm to the C-hub... on the K2 they're gold) and they are a fair bit longer than the stock ones, so that should make the whole upper arm assembly tougher.

- for Ti Hingepins, I believe Lunsford make the best. This is the whole set.

Take a chill pill dude, I was only trying to help. All I'm saying is Fioroni and budget are two words that won't go together. Settle down.

your always saying sumtin aren't you. Like my recommendations are bad and you always have a better answer. I think you have noticed I don't respond to your babble anymore so please skip my comments and keep on going like you never saw them. If you want to battle I am fully equiped.

Ala Cartman, " Calm Down, Calm down ya sons a bitchiz"

The GF has been using the camera to get some flyers and posters and crap done for one of the million clubs shes part of for school. (Thank god she graduates this fall!!!!) As soon as I can pry it away from her I'll get the pics up.

Humboldt - take it to the free for all man.....

I stick with stock. But Fio, Racers Edge and Hardcore all make some GREAT upgrade parts. None of them come cheaply.

It's really not easy just for me to take this thread to the free for all. I could start a thread over there and maybe or maybe not he comes to do battle. I really understand where your coming from, but can't I entertain you for a minute?:fro: Dude pisses me off plain and simple. I didn't cuss, or flame, just expressing my feelings and offering an invitation to my pretty pain cave aka Humboldtblazer's Abusement park..
