@WickedFog that video is impressive! And I thought adding lights and jewelry wire details to my 1/24 BTTF DeLorean model was tedious.
That is next level! 🤩
Yeah, way beyond my skill level. But I love seeing that stuff.

If you're getting into hardbody modeling, one of the guys named Matt from the Scale Builders Guild does a lot of cool custom modeling with ABS bodies, which most AMT, Revell, Monogram bodies are made of.

Well taking my time is paying off so far. Painted the last green coat this morning and it's looking good. I'm going to let it cure for a couple days then I'll apply a clear coat. Hopefully, I don't mess it up with the clear.
The outside temps should be warmer the next couple days which will be better anyway:)

Just want to say, make sure you figure out what you're doing with the unside of the body. I generally paint it the same as the outside, because it's kinda difficult to paint it a fifferent color without getting it on the outside.

That paint is really smooth! You've been knocking it out of the park. Can't wait to see it finished.

I used to do that. Then my ocd says black inside. Now on my recent projects I brush on an interior color. This hobby is turning into a sickness. 🤣🫠

Yeah, I have done that before with a brush. Any more, I spray the inside first with a couple coats. Then I only do the outside from there on.

Thanks! I'm really pleased with it so far. I'm going to use an acrylic clear coat I typically use painting bicycles, so hopefully I don't screw it up, haha.

Good tip on the underside. I was planning to paint it the same color. I'll probably lightly tape the bottom edges of the body to protect from any over spray.

In hindsight, I wonder if I should have painted the underside first. I'll have to remember that for the next one.

I got impatient and started assembling the Lexus. Next will be decals, once some of my glued parts are dry. This color is 🔥.

Rookie mistake? I didn't realize that buying the body kit, DOES NOT include the front and rear bumper 😣. So I have now ordered that. Include a weeks delay before I can mount to the chassis.
Thanks for nothing Horizon Hobby, lol!

Wowzers! You did an amazing job with that. That paint looks smooth as a babies bottom too.

Thanks! I fear my paint skills with Lexan won't be as nice. I've got a J concepts corvair body that I have yet to tackle

Pics? They actually have a Corvair body?

Right?! I love wagons. Haha
Me too!

I think you'll like this. Check out how the suspension floats, just like a real one.

It's done with an arduino and 4 servos on the shocks.

OMG that is fantastic! 😍
I need to research mounting lights in the Corvair. I'm thrilled the body doesn't have holes in it for pins, as id like it to have more of a hard body look (if I can)
