Please do not post in all caps. YOU ARE YELLING and it is difficult to read.

Throttle Control:p: Thats the only thing i can think of, i don' think there are many mods you can do to make it slower. Mayb lower your spur gear 4 teeth but I'm not sure if that wouold help on mid-end power.

Man i wish i had ur problem...

What he said dude. Nothing personal but it's a REALLY bad habit that you should rid yourself of fast. It can really piss people off on the net to the point that they wont wanna help ya.

I had that problem in my 21 conversion maxx. I bought a new remote that I could control the EPA with so it wouldn't go wide open. This is with a 2.5hp 21.

What habbit?

He means when you post in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS, it is considered to be yelling on the INTERNET. Yelling, in general is rude. So, using all caps on the internet is rude and you should rid yourself of that habbit...if this is something you normally do. :)

bad habbit

sorry guys i'm brand new, this is my first time posting a thread.
still learning!!!

thanks

We were all new once... At least you use punctuation! There are still a few that post 20 lines without one period, comma or anything... those posts suck to read.

bad-t, I have the same setup in a 2.5 Maxx basher truck. Yeah, it will backflip easily, but that is a pleasant problem in my mind. I would rather have way too much power than not enough. I think you should be happy that you got it running right. Now all you gotta do is learn how to drive it and control it without breaking it or burning out the engine.

Re-gear the clutch bell and the spur gear. For 21 conversions I would suggest picking up a Robison Racing emaxx double slipper plate with a 65t spur gear and a 23t clutch bell. You can test the 22t cb that you have bfore inatalling 23t. That will eliminate part of you wheelie problem and unload a great deal of stress off of your trans at the same time.

StrechM, those gears will make that truck go 60mph, or thereabouts. :hamster: It should get rid of some of the wheelie problem though.

It will not do 60, not even 50. The torque from the big block will move it out of it's tracks. Believe me. There are several threads on this subject. Do some searches.

Some of the members have tried the 66t spur with a 24t clutch bell, it will depend on what results you are trying to achieve. P2 = more torque, 72/22 is geared way to low. You should get severalk answers on this subject.
What gears are you using Chevy?

I am geared at 72/22, for a 3.27 ratio. The stock setup is 72/18, for a 4.00 ratio. That means my gear ratio is 22% higher than stock. If we assume that a stock T-Maxx goes 45 mph and then add 22% because of gearing, we get a projected speed of 54.9mph. Naturally, all this extra speed would not be possible with the .15 engine, but the P2 puts out way more power than the .15, so the P2 can utilize the gearing to push the top speed into big numbers, assuming engine rpm's are equal.

I think P2 with right gearing will get into 50+ mph with no sweat. I'll see if I can borrow my cop friend's radar gun and video a few runs.

I don't have my maxx infront of me right now, so I'm not sure of the stock sg size, but I know the stock cb on my maxx 2.5 was a 20t. I know this because I counted before I went to buy the 18t on it now. Point is that it has alot more torque than befor, and I'm sure it is slower top end, but it is still plenty fast for a 2.5.

The 18 tooth sb requires smaller bearings that burn up pretty quick unless you spend some $ on good bearings.

The 2.5 maxx comes with 72/20. I think the original maxx came with 72/18, but I'm not sure.

Yeah, if I remember right the 18t uses 5x8 bearings, 20t and 22t use 5x10's, and the 16t use 5x6's. I haven't had a problem with the bearings, but it is only 2.5 power. I think I payed $3 each for them, but I couldn't tell you what brand they are. I do know the lhs guy had them in a tube of probably 24 or so.

gearing for p2

StrechM,
seems hard to find 65t spur.
i just bought a 23cb.
what do u think about 70/23?

thanks
