After every run, I have to clean the roto start owb on my OS, or it doesn't grab a bit. Is this a sign of wear or a common occurrence with this particular engine and starter?

Not sure if it's just that engine, but check the shaft. If it's worn at all this can happen. Also if there is any clearance in the bushing/bearing for the shaft, excess fuel will get in there and gum it up fast. I've had this problem on several Pro .15s.

The one in mine worked fine for 5-6 gallons or so. Still works fine.

Although, I don't use roto, only pull. Your roto may has put more wear/tear on the bearing and shaft causing it to slip. How much fuel have you gotten through it before the excess slippage started happening?

I've ran about 10 tanks through it. The first few, it would grab fine when clean, but after a 5-10 minute run, it would slip like nothing was there. The last two or three, however, it has grabbed enough to start the mill. The engine is supposed to have a gallon ran through it, and I believe it. The engine runs great. It starts on the first pop every time. I've been running trx fuel lately, too. But it was doing the same thing on O'donnels. It was excessively rich when I started it the first time, so I'm sure leaning it out has helped. I'm also running the old, blue Traxxas tuned pipe. Figured this may hold back some power, but shouldn't really affect anything else. The guy that had it before was running a stock, plastic, pro .15 pipe on it.:)

Well, IME, odonnells and traxxas are both silly oily fuels. I never had slippage problems until I got a couple gallons of odonnels. Within a few tanks, slip city. What sucked is I had two gallons!

Do you have byrons or trinity available? Those seem to give me really good results. I proffer byrons in general these days.

Last time I was at the lhs, all the fellow carried was traxxas fuel. I won't buy it anymore. I felt like I was disrespecting my first real mill by using up the last of what I had in it. I'll see what he can do about getting some byrons or trinity. We ran through 5-6 gallons of byrons last summer, and it was rock solid. It really was a noticeable difference after running trx fuel.
