ordered my trucks

Offhand, yeah... The charger and batts are fairly decent. The key question here is, do you have fuel, AA batteries (12 on the revo, 8 on the 'pede if it's electric, 12 if nitro), a fueling bottle, and after run oil?

You'll enjoy the truck; Traxxas makes a great product.

It will come with one plug in the engine.

I would recommend the following:

AA batteries; you can get any brand, but I like Duracell - they seem to last longer.

Fuel: 20% trinity monster horsepower is what I like the most. I've ran most of the fuel types out there, and trinity, by far, is the easiest to tune.

Fuel filler bottle: mines' a dynamite brand one, but Venom makes a decent one too.

Afterrun oil: 1 part Automatic Trans fluid to 1 part Marvel Mystery Oil is perfect - it's cheap, and you'll get a year+ supply for about $16. You will need a bottle to contain this. I have an oil bottle that I picked up from a sewing machine repair shop (hey, don't laugh; I had to pick up my moms' machine and spotted the bottle). The bottle cost about $5, but it has a long tip with a screw on cap - perfect for After run oil.

I would also recommend a temp gun: you don't need a real expensive one. Duratrax makes one that's cheap and fairly decent.

Lastly, you'll need a tool for the glow plug; an 8mm socket is all you need. When tightening the plug; just snug it, NO gorilla force needed.

Thanks for the info it has been a big help you said it comes with a 1 plug in it how long do the plugs last sorry for the noob questions but this is my 1st nitro rc

They could last 10 seconds or 10 gallons. I've seen 'em pop before the truck starts. I've also had one last over 10 gallons. It was burnt and deformed, but the motor still ran on it.

It popped last weekend - I'll miss it :(.

Don't sweat it - we were all noobs once - the key thing is, we're all here to help ya out.

Plugs generally run about $4 a pop, pending on the shop. I run McCoy 59's in my non-turbo engines. They seem to last the longest, and run the best.

Will the McCoy 59's work with the revo? Also do I need to get a failsafe for the revo and what is one used for?

I would recommend a failsafe for any nitro in general. Personally, I don't use one. But, I would highly recommend one. Ofna's failsafe is a pretty good model.

I know diameter wise, the mc59's will fit, but depth wise, I'm not sure.

I had this saved in the archives and it sums a failsafe up nicely:

Failsafe Definition: Used in gasoline or nitro RCs as a way to make sure you don't suffer the consequences of an out-of-control RC doing 30+ mph, a fail safe unit is connected between the receiver and throttle servo of the RC. It monitors the connection between the transmitter and receiver for disruption and/or interference -- as well as total battery pack strength. Failures such as lost signal, frequency interference, or low battery will automatically engage the vehicle braking system, stopping or slowing down the RC. Fail safe units are a highly desirable accessory for hobby-grade RCs.

These little lifesavers can provide peace of mind and are a fairly cheap way to avoid costly repairs that result from runaways and crashes due to signal problems.

I agree with Smaxxin; adding hopups is a very addicting part of the hobby.

And welcome to the Green side!

ok Guess failsafe is on my list not thanks for the good info this stuff is starting to add up ;)

Welcome to RCNT....
And yes it does add up fast...
Just look you don't even have your truck yet..And you all ready donated to a RC site LOL...
You will have some good times here and with your new RC's

Yea I am looking forward to the trucks getting hear and I wanna thank you all for your warm welcome this site has been a huge help in picking what trucks to get and all kinds of great info.

Thanks so much for all the help.

I'll jump on the McCoy MC-59 glow plug bandwagon! Best plug I've ever owned for my Revo and it'll work just fine in yours! Keep in mind, though, it's not guaranteed to last forever. Like HB said, they can last 10 seconds or 10 gallons (and HB, my condolenceses on your loss, 10 gallons and a lot of memories!) but they are good plugs and do tolerate a lot of abuse.

Also, welcome to the Members Group and thanks a bunch! We appreciate it and look forward to having you here with us!
