If you can't afford MS Office, this is the next best thing.
And its Free!

http://www.technologynewsdaily.com/node/1572

I have used it in the past.
Is it as good as MS Office? I don't think so....
Does it offer the same features as MS Office? Yes
Is it free? Yes

Its worth looking at if you don't have an office suit and need one.

Yea I downloaded it yesterday and it looks and works great. I always suggest it to students and teachers that do not want to buy MS Office and it will work with files that were created in both packages.

The only use for word processors I've ever had is to read documents someone ELSE is using.

I use O.O. for all my processing and spreadsheet apps, MS Office will **NEVER** touch any of my comps, it gets too ingrained into the system. Additionally, later versions of some of its applications (such as publisher, and there are others) don't read in older versions. Example, a Publisher 3.0 document won't read into any later version correctly. How stupid is that? From a desktop publishing standpoint, any MS page application is a nightmare. Nothing you ever get will look as the original person intended it.

Plus OO is open source, if you know a little programming you can write your own plug-ins and even customize the program and recompile your own executable.

Been using OO for years, it totally rocks and converts all that MS stuff perfectly (in most cases.)
