We used to eat a ton of eggs every morning. Since we eat dinner for breakfast
we haven't used eggs but maybe three or four a week.

Eggs are like Bit Coins, right now. Last week it was $10.99 for 18ct. at my goto grocery store. Yesterday, it was $4.99. A $6 fluctuation?!
Yeah I bought 12 large eggs yesterday- they were $4.25 iirc at Dollar General.

Well I had to look on the website. Shows $6.75 now but I swear it wasn't that yesterday.

I'd buy about 20 more and put a sign up - $5/dozen. Do you let yours free range?
I have about an acre, so I started off letting the free range... then theybstartwd to range over into the neighbors yard and the road. I ended up putting a fence around them so they still have a decent area to roam around in.

Load up on them. There used to be a farm here that had a little building by the road. Honor system. Folks just stopped and grabbed eggs that they collected every morning.

Dang! I'm sittin on a gold mine then! I gots me 8 chickens in my coop!

Even store eggs do not require refrigeration. Refrigeration reduces the germ population on egg shells, so stores want consumers to do this to reduce liability to the sellers.
When I was 16, I spent the summer in Galveston, TX helping my cousin and his shrimping fleet. They would go out to sea and shrimp continuously for a week at a time, or until they reach capacity. There would be dozens of store bought eggs on board, and it was never refrigerated.
