Can someone recommend a good set of tires and wheels (on road) for my Ofna Violator? Links would be appreciated.

Can't remember what mine are (I will check the package when I get home if you'd like)... but here are mine. I love em'... they were like ~$25 a pair. These are some damn nice street tires. they are actually bonded to the wheels... not glued, they are solid.

Yeah, those look great

Where did you buy those-please send me the link? I see you have those mounted on a Swift-do you know if they will fit Ofnas? I need wheels that fit 17mm wheel hubs.

Also how are these tires and wheels?

Also I noticed you have an exhaust deflector, does that muffle the noise at all on your buggy?

To me those look like the Medial Pro Tarmac II rally tires. Linky here http://www.gsracing.com/gsracing/page.asp?pg=products&catid=17&fatherid=2&rootid=0&id=303

The come preglued but I have never heard of a bonded tire? I know for MT's they are making a "captured" tire but never heard of bonded to the rim? Can you explain bonded, not glued?

From what I have found out the only 1/8th buggy that does not use the standard 17mm hubs are the DuraTraxx buggy so you are safe with your Ofna.

The older Kyosho MP5 and MP6 series used a much different setup. Larger Diam Hex but much smaller diam axle opening. The MP5 and MP6 wheels will not fit on any other buggy.

With the release of the 7.5 I beleive all buggies use the 17mm hex hub now.

Sorry... I misspoke with the whole bonded thing... they do glue it, but the tires have some sort of air system under the rubber... so they are glued, but the dude at the hobby shop was telling me that they were glued with some sort of special glue and in a certain way for the air system. Yes, you are correct HumboldtBlazer, that is what they are. I got them at my LHS. They were $26 a pair.

Deflector does cut down on noise some... but mainly on the Swift, the body hole for the exhaust actually didn't reach the tuned pipe, so I had to extended it anyway, so I just did that. I am happy with the deflector for many reasons.

35. They seem to have good grip for parking lot beatings and course driving. Anything harder, I would think the buggy would want to skid around too much... these seem to have just enough give to slide when needed but still have control. I could see where you could get real lose with a harder tire to be honest with you.

Maybe the 45, but anything higher than that, I wouldn't suggest it. The weight of our buggies and the speed that they get with how the center of gravity is, I just think it would end up bad in a hard turn with power behind it.

Try to find this ones
http://www.grpgandini.com/ing/novita.asp , this tires are the best you will find now in the marked, 100% of the racers in my area are using this model now. they have better gripping than the Tarmac, but beware of the soft compound if you will use it only for bashing, they don't last longer.

Power Racing is working on two new on-road tires for 1/8 buggies utilizing the 17mm hubs. They will be similar in construction to the GRP tires, except that they will mount to standard buggy wheels so you can use whatever wheel you like. Inserts won't be necessary. Tread patterns and compounds are still up in the air, subject to testing...we're probably going to do something similar to our 1/10 touring tires, though. GRP tires pictured above use a flat bead wheel.

Street price should be around $20/pr. for pre-mounts on our Spoke or Dish wheels this summer. They will also be available unmounted.

I'm sorry dude, I've seen that Generalsilicones do not sell the tyres I told you in USA, go ahead with the Tarmac, they are also good, I was using it untill the others came to the market

I use medium compound in the front and soft componud in the rear weels, but if you whant them just for bashing put the hard ones in front and medium rear and they will last longer, I'll not recommend to put hard in the front and soft rear due you will have to much gripping difference between both.
