on board temp or mini temp gun

I have used both.

A hand held temp gun is a must have even if you are using an on-board.

I've had both and the on board sensor would read low, compared to the hand held. The on board was a Venom model and the hand held is a PE-1 from tempgun.com

i got a traxxas on board temp for sale , its more accurate than the venom which i have too. venom would be anywhere from 10-15 degrees off, but the Traxxas one one goes 5 6 degrees off from my HPI temp gun

but i like the venom cuz it has a temp cut off so i use that

+1 on the PE-1, it's small and accurate. I think they are around $20-$25.

i have the little oval O'Donnel (spelling) Racing temp gun..I like it and it seems pertty accurate. I dont think the price killed me either.

I have a mini temp gun can't remember what brand but after I got it I realized that it only goes to 230 degrees, so make sure which ever one you get it goes over like 300 degrees, I now have a temp gun for my brushless motors oh well...
