hows it going guys? My mom found my old Losi that I used to run when I was a kid up in the attic. So I went and picked it up and its in really good shape for being as old as it is with a few exceptions. It seems to be missing a wheel , couldnt tell you what happend to that. And the steering servo is just floping around in there. Now I guess what my question is , Are parts still available for this thing? Can I upgrade the motor and batteries? If I can upgrade this thing it would be way cheaper than buying a new electric car. I have a Revo with an OS .21 that just got broke in so I am not a total Newb when it comes to RC cars....but far from an expert. So what do you guys think..is it worth messing with? check out a few pics I just took of it

i would have to say yes, keep the ol' girl running. You should be able to find "modern" wheels to fit the front to replace the one you lost. You just need to know the hex size.

Other than that, fit a failsafe and run as-is with new batteries and controller (if you dont have the original)

I would deffo get it running if it was mine, that is pure R/C history !!

The motor looks rebuild-able to me as well for some reason........Loving the automotive on / off switch too, very smart idea that !

What is it??? a Losi "what"? I have no clue what to search for other than Losi and that brings up all sorts of different crap.

Yeah even if I couldnt get new parts for it I probably still wouldnt get rid of it..sentimental reasons...lol. And yes I have the original radio for it..but I would need all new components...new servos , motor , batteries , chargers etc. etc. I dont mind spending a little money to get it going again. I was just worried about even being able to find the parts for it..and like I said in my last post I dont even know what to search for other than "Losi" and that brings up all sorts of things I dont need...

Might want to look into keeping the body in one piece. They have to be rare by now. Any 1/10 st body should work for ya.

HMM...yeah I could probably do that if it is indeed that rare. This thing is in really good shape for its age. Been up in my moms attic for probably 15 years

would it be worth buying that truck on ebay for the parts for yours ??

only an idea, but may be a good parts truck..........

Any 540 motor would work. Even a 550 like the traxxas 550 titian would fit. The xl5/12titian wouldn't be a bad choice for it. The drive train should hold up fine with a good slipper adjustment. A 7 cell nimh, 4000mah+ would move it good. Or lipos and chargers are really cheap at hobbyking.com. You'd need a low voltage cutoff if you went lipo. About $20. Edit: Just looked at the pictures again and it doesn't look to have a slipper. Try to find one for it or stick to 6 cell nimh.
