umm could old gas cause my engine to not start. it has been sitting for about 3 weeks and i dont think it was in a air tight container.

Maybe,i had some gas that was sitting around for a year and i ran it threw a freinds maxx with no problems.
 
When in doubt, change it. You should never leave left over fuel in the tank for an extended period of time. SO yes, try fresh fuel.
 
absolutely. i wouldnt run fuel that was exposed to air for even a few hours. thats enough time to throw my tune off a bit, and when racing thats the last thing you need.
