I've had my tmaxx for about a month and ran about 8 quarts through it, and my glow plugs will not last for more than one run, if it stalls, new glow plug. if i refill it with nitro, new glow plug. etc. whats going on? i can afford nitro but i will not keep paying for glow plugs at 14$ for 3 o.s. lc3 plugs

ok so i read about the colors and wetness, but my plugs are breaking in half where the break is easily noticable, and the pugs tend to be a goldish/ brown sort of color, I'm not running too lean either b/c i have plenty of blue smoke and temps are generally around 250-290

I'm willing to bet you have pieces of filament inside the cylinder, and that's what's hitting the new filaments, causing them to break.
You'll need to pull the head and check for pieces and damage to the piston and cylinder wall. You might have a problem.

haha, the last sentence, you might have a problem hahaha. so your saying that from all the breaking of filaments some may have broken off and landed into the cylinder and then throwout my engine?

Check your rod and bearings, when they start letting go the first sign is taking out plugs.

ok I've got my engine completely torn apart and i am noticing that my entire engine is stained red. i run sidewinder that contains after run oils but i am noticing things that look like rust, so whats goin on

It's slowly bleeding to death, internally.
Actually, some pics would help. Look for pits on top of the piston, and streaks on the sides.

Looks good to me. I would check the rod for play on the crank pin and I have seen the bearings let go on one gallon, I would replace them regardless.

I'm seeing tiny dots all over the top of the piston. That's a sure sign that some bits of filament have been bouncing around in there. In a properly tuned engine, the top of the piston will have the signature color of whatever fuel you were running.

I believe this was Blue Thunder, running in an early .15 TMaxx.

The top of your piston should have had the same transparent coating of the golden brown you're seeing in the rest of the internals.

If you THOROUGHLY clean out the entire engine, you might be able to salvage it. Any time you lose a filament, or even a part of it, you need to do a tear down to avoid doing permanent damage to the piston, cylinder wall and more filaments.

This pic tells me you had bits of filament bouncing around in there. You might also want to post a pic of the head button. It will look the same.

has the engine had any head shims removed at any time?? possibly causing pre detonation. if engine fires before tdc more energy from explosion is trapped instead of pushing piston ,,
