God, I love these scams in my Junk Mail inbox!!

Hello. This letter may come to you as a surprise due to the fact that we have not yet met. I have to say that I have no intentions of causing you any pains so i decided to contact you through this medium. As you read this, I don't want you to feel sorry for me, because, I believe everyone will die someday. My name is Karim Malik Nima, a merchant in Dubai, in the U.A.E. I have been diagnosed with prostate and esophageal Cancer that was discovered very late due to my laxity in caring for my health. It has defiled all form of medicine and right now, I have only about a few months to live according to medical experts. I have not particularly lived my life so well, as I never really cared for anyone not even myself but my business. Though I am very rich, I was never generous, I was always hostile to people and only focus on my business as that was the only thing I cared for. But now I regret all this as I now know that there is more to life than just wanting to have or make all the money in the world. I believe if i have a second chance to come to this world I would live my life a different way from how I have lived it. Now that I know my time is near, I have willed and given most of my properties and assets to my immediate and extended family members and as well as a few close friends and Schools in the UAE. I have decided to give alms to charity organizations, as I want this to be one of the last good deeds I do on earth. So far, I have distributed money to some charity organizations in the U.A.E, England and Ireland. Now that my health has deteriorated so badly, I cannot do this my self any more. I once asked members of my family to close one of my accounts and donate the money, which I have there to charity organization in Bulgaria, they refused and kept the money to themselves. Hence, I do not trust them anymore, as they seem not to be contended with what I have left for them. The last of my money which is the huge cash that I deposit in a bank in England Uk. I want you to help me collect this deposit and dispatched it to charity organizations and let them know that it is I Karim Malik Nima that is making this generous donation. I am writing this from my laptop computer in my hospital bed in England where I wait for my time to come. If you are interested to help me i will give you more information about this like the amount that i deposited in the bank and Contact of the bank so you can contact them. I will also send you pictures of my self when in the hospital. Note that you will take 20% out of the funds and give 80% to the charity organizations. I pray that God uses you to support and assist me with good heart God be with you. If you can help respond back to me on my private email: [email protected] Karim Malik Nima

My response:

Go frick yourself and I hope a camel humps your relatives. =devil

Sounds a lot like the guy on ebay that bought my ipod on ebay adn wanted me to ship it to his "son" studying abroad in Nigeria.......

The same scam is starting to get pretty old, but they always find a way to put a new twist on it. I like to respond back to them, then when they ask for my bank account info I make up the last few numbers and give them a false name. I know they must get excited having what they believe is a valid name and account number. I can only hope to crush their 'last dying wish'. =devil

Here's the kick.... 9 times out of 10, that scam above works pretty much the exact same way as the famous "found money, need help stealing it" routine.

The way the scam works, is the scammer will offer up that carrot, oft times making up a large number (16 million, lets say). That large number of money just plain and simple doesn't exist (well, not in their pocket). It's the "fees" that they need to free the money up that does exist. Usually, that fee is right around two or three thousand.

Now, what they usually do, is if you're dumb enough to send them a western union wire (their favorite form of scamming), they'll cash that and disappear.

The other scam mentioned here, the check cashing scam, is a rather nasty one. It turns the victim into a criminal. They send you a check (from someone elses account; the check is either forged or washed), and you cash it, in return for the item you're selling and the difference.

Several weeks pass, and the check gets bounced, and you are left holding the bag. Literally.

It's really hard to believe, but you would be amazed at how many people fall for these scams. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but rest assured, it's a lot more than it should be (shouldn't be any!).

The best thing to do when you get one of these emails (unless you wish to bait the scammer and waste their time/resources), is to report the email to their host (yahoo, gmail, and a few others will NOT tolerate these scammers, and will block their ip addresses and close out their accounts). You can also forward the email onto the FBI's investigation site, below.

Another thing you can do is to educate EVERYONE you know that uses the internet. Tell them to NEVER send money to anyone that contacts them through email. And never EVER cash any checks for anyone on the internet.

It seems like my junk box has been full of billions of dollars of winning lottery tickets. I mean, I must be the luckiest guy in the world, because I'm winning lotteries in countries that I've never heard of. To me, the best part is when the email says. "You've been chosen as the winner of a twenty million dollar sweepstakes. You must be very lucky, because you didn't even enter and you still won. Your name was entered for you."

If I would just send them every bit of personal information, such as names address, account numbers, social security numbers, etc, I could claim all of my prizes. It's gotten so rampant, I'm going to start forwarding them to the FBI, although I'm sure they have a much bigger workload than they can handle already.

heres another idea for scammers of junk mail showing up in you real 3d mail box at home. you no the one at the end of your driveway. well lots of junk mail comes with a prepaid envelope to send in your signed form or whatever they want you to send back to them. take this envelope and neately tape it to a box of bricks or something and send it to them. now they get a box o bricks or your old broken household appliance and lose the money it cost to ship your old oven to them. lol
