Well, today is a sad day around my neighborhood. my RC is not runnable for a week or so.

I was running it down the street. tuning it for a race this past sunday. I had got it running great, i just noticed that my tires are splayed out like this \|/ . i cannot seem to get them to go in any more. This has happened cuz my wheels are magents for the side of the track(barriers), how do i go about fixing this, everyting looks normal except the tires are splayed, i adjusted the turnbuckles and that did not help, just f'ed up my steering a little. any help here?

Well anyways lets get back to the damage.
I went form 0 to full out speed, just to see what it was running like. everything had been warmed up and adjust properly. When i brought it back towards myswlf down the street i heard the gears "whrrrrrrr". Like a standard car backing up. I had my car bust a 180, and come rolling backwards up to me, as i usually do to adjust it (no gas isbeing givern). and it stopped dead right there when it started to roll back, i was like WTF?! so i wlked up to it, and checked it out, i went to see if my gears had a rock in it or something, nothing. i checked the gears, yes it is a 2 speed. The 2nd one had half the teeth, and the metal gear was a bit chewed up, and it had a screw missing from where it is held on to. How could this have happened? Should i buy all new gears? replace my whole 2speed assembly? everything else is still good....

Okay, first off, are you saying you have a whole poop load of toe out?

As for the 180, if you grabbed brake right before that, i'll bet you have a stripped front ring gear or drive pinion. That could cause the car to send all braking power to the rear, as if you're pulling the emergency brake.

Your spur gears should be fine. Just buy a new 2nd gear spur and on the 1st gear which i'm assuming is metal, just make sure the mesh between the spur and pinion is free.

For the missing screw, if it was attached to the 2 speed housing, or one-way hub, check where the screw went in to see if it stripped.

If it did, then the part it stripped will need to be replaced. Also, buy the appropriate screw.

Good news, you won't need to buy a new 2 speed!

I think I covered all your questions. Feel free to ask any more

seems kwong got all the important points. only thing that we both are misunderstanding is you \I/ symbol. if ur car has toe in, or camber that cannot be adjusted, and u have been hitting the boards alot, then most likely u have bent ur pillow balls. this is a weeks point in the NTC3, and happens ALOT! if u can afford it, upgrade to the Ti ones, they wont bend. otherwise just get a new set of stock ones. they are cheap, but a pain in the arse to change.

I have a hell of a lot toe out, i never though of checking the pillow balls, never knew my car had pillows and balls. j/k

i will check into getting the TI ones, thanx for the info on the gear, i will check it tonight.

besides the pillowballs what else should i replace so this will not ahppen again, should i go to the Ti everything dealing with steering? or should i just see what happens with the pillow balls. what is a good www site to get these balls?

Another great supplement for touring cars iss the XXX touring car set up guide. Nitroaddict got me to buy this and alomost all of my problems went away. Look for it!!!Buy IT!!! Good luck.
