Hey guys,
I have a novarossi 9886 (086) pipe, and was wondering if the ofna 086 pipe is exactly the same as they say it is.

I want another pipe, but a stronger one that is same as novarossi, the nova pipe scares me to race cuz its weak, so i want a replica thats stronger and cheaper and will hurt less if it gets nailed.

Thanks

They are close enough to say that there will be no noticible difference. I'd go with the ofna, just because its 1/2 the price of the nova pipe.

Some people claim that the NovaRossi and RB pipes have a slight edge over the OFNA pipes because they are made of thinner material and resonate better, but most agree that the OFNA's are good enough for the money.

The OFNA pipes don't have an EFRA number but that only matters if you enter sanctioned races.

Check the header on the OFNA pipes. Sometimes the exhaust port flange and the downpipe are not aligned properly where they are welded together and this can disrupt gas flow on the inside of the first bend. It's easy enough to put right with some small grinding bits and a Dremel.

well i plan on racing some races like the nitro dirt challenge and proline maxx challenge this year, is the ofna pipe still ok???

Those numbers only matter if you race over seas. The jp1 and jp2 pipes don't have those numbers and are still legal.

Oops! My mistake. Living in the UK we tend to have a Euro-centric view of these things.

If I was buying again I'd probably go for the JP-2 over the OFNA 086.

i have always notice the nova/rb pipes to be better performing.
