Just got back my piston and sleeve and wow!!! Talk about a tight repinch. I had to revert to the power drill and oil to get it to turn over. My starter box is looking over at me and swearing already... Once I get a little more time I'll have to hit it again with the drill. Sooooo Tight!!!

Heat 'er up bro.:) Even a hairdryer would help. Try to get it around 150 degrees and see how it feels. 200 would be better yet.

I hit it with a heat gun already too. It's a pain in the butt, but I'm cheap and just want to get her up and running so my son can get a kick out of watching it rip around the yard.

I should have figured you tried that. If you know enough to get an engine re-pinched, you have probably been around the block.:) Best of luck man. Maybe try cracking the glow plug loose until she fires.

I pinch my engines quite often actually, but always do a mild or medium pinch. Too tight just re-stresses the con rod all over again, unless you're replacing that as well....

Depending on who did it for you, they may be able to relieve some of the pinch. When I send it to rayaracing, I also ask for a mild pinch. The first engine I had pinched was done by osrocket and it was so tight that spinning it 30 minutes with a drill keyed to the crankshaft and spraying WD40 down the GP hole barely got it loose enough to start. By the time I was done with the drill, my hands were so tired I couldn't even pick up a damn screwdriver! I had the engine in one hand and the drill in the other.

I understand What A repinch Does But can some1 tell me what exactly they do to ur piston and sleeve to get it tight again..? is it cheaper than just getting new ones..?

They basically refit the piston to the sleeve again by resizing the sleeve a bit smaller. So they a jig of some type that keeps the sleeve the same shape (taper and all), but makes it a tad bit smaller so the piston fits tight again and compression returns.

Sleeve pinches are VERY cheap. I pay $15 for mine...if I send in more than one it's $10 for each additional and $5 to ship the completed sleeves back to me. You can get a few more gallons out of them once resized.

Awesome.. sounds to good to be true..
i will be asking all my LHS if they provide this service otherwise is there anywhere an Aussie can sent it..? Dont want it to cost me more in shipping than the actuall job..

Where do you get it for $15? :)

Sorry, don't know anyone outside the states that does it. I've had OSRocket do one and www.RayARacing.com do 3 others. Ray has a decent explanation as to how they do theirs on the site.

Guy named Dion Potter from Battlefield RC in Georgia ;-) He uses the Raya Racing Tooling as well...

I got a mill off of a buddy and he said he never even got to run it. I even spent a good 20-25 minutes getting good and heated up first before I tried moving the piston. Did not matter how much lube I threw at it (WD-40) that sleeve was just too damn tight. I tried working it up a bit at a time and finally got it to go after a good bit of frustration pain to the 'ol con rod . I was getting worried about damage to both the piston and sleeve but I guess it just took a bit of patience to get to run right. Once that was over and it was broken in right it ran like a champ!

thats funny, I had osrocketracing do it. It is tight, about 30mins on a drill with alot of oil, and it's still TIGHT!!! Hopefully I will get a little more time to work on it, but I'm getting aggravated with it. Might just pour the nitro on it in stead of in it and get some enjoyment that way... See what a gallon can do... lol
