Hey guys, erm, I'm a bit puzzled with this one, i did do a searchon the forums but couldnt see anything relating to it, very well could be me, however.

I was out bashin my rush evo earlier, gave ti some wellie and just had a bit of a laugh, but i came in to refuel earlier and gave it a few min to cool down like i normaly do, started her back up again fine, but the cluth bell and spur gears were both spinning freely.

now I'm possitive that the clutch bell shouldnt spin till i give it some throttle, so the only thing i though it could be was the spur gear, i get the impression its slipping, and not puttin power through to the rear wheeles.

If anyone has any idea of what else it could be, or if they think its the same and how to solve the problem, any help would be great

Thanks

~ Baz ~

At an idle, the clutchbell should spin freely. When your on the throttle increasing the RPM's of the engine, the clutch shoes will spring out engaging the clutchbell to turn the spur gear..

If your clutchbell/spur gear wsn't then I would be worried about the clutch set up. Other than what IMbroken said, you are fine. BTW, why do you let it cool down? You should be able to run continuosly.

because i usualy dont take my fuel out front with me, so its left standing atleast a min, and sometimes i do run continuously,

And okay, even if they should, and they probably did, i didnt pay much attention to that, but when i apply the throttle the Spur gear spins and so does the clutch bell, but I'm still gettin no power to the rear wheels =(

hi, this is kind'a what's happening to my rush evo aswell.

i start the engine with the pullstart, let it idle a bit (about 1 min) then
give it a lil bit of throttle at a time going about 1mm every sec and in
about 5 secs it cuts out. :(

i have tryed again and again all different things eg: if it's flooded, if somethings in the driveshaft, if it's too rich/too lean so put it back to base settings and leaned it up 1/2 a turn, then tryed again.

guess what!

same results, just give it some throttle really slowly and then it cuts out when it's on about 1/4 throttle. :(

what the hell is going on?

thanks

yea, power is getin from the clutch bell to the spur gear but after that nothing, the spur gear is just slipping against the slipper plate, so i guess i need to change the slipper clutch pad :/

got a good plug in it?

Base settings on that engine are WAY too rich from the factory. I think it took around 2 turns to finally get some power. What temps are you running at?

Maybe the diff? I'm not familiar with that truck. Does it use a ball diff? If so, try tightening it up.

ok mate.

thanks. :D

:ponder2: :ponder2: :ponder2: :ponder2:

so mate, dunno.

have to ask at my lhs.

speek to you laters. :D

bye.

I'll bet dollars to doughnuts your rear diff is blown. I had a HPI MT, which is similar to the Rush and that thing ate rear diffs until I shimmed them up and put the hardened gear sets in.

Make sure the spur is actually sitting on the slipper properly. If you loosen it up too far then it may become unseated in the assembly. Happened to me. It would rev like it was in 3rd gear. turns out to be that.

Yea almost exactaly what is was, i did have a fiddle but even tightning the spur gear didnt help so i decided it was time to beat fire with fire stuck a new slipper bad on the spur gear, and stuck a slipper pad on the hub that it rubs against, and now it runs like a beauty, like a devil came out in it, even pulls a few wheelies now and again, but I'm just tunning it to some new fuel from my LHS so its a got a bit more kick, will try and get some pics of it soon :D
