I pulled the engine off my nitro Rusty a couple of months ago to seal it up and eliminate the ez-start. Now I'm finally putting it back together and I found peculiar problem. The upper engine mount does not fit the lower correctly. Check the pic.
I know I took out 4 screws but as you can see the top front mount is too long and won't line up both holes.

I checked the part #s and they all are the same for Nitro Sport/Rustler for all engines. Am I am I seeing something wrong or is this the wrong mount? It is getting late and I'm tired, but I'm confused.

I still don't know what's happened here. The top is 3mm too long. I guess I'll pick up a complete new mount since it also has acouple of stripped holes where it mounts to the chassis.

It can't be done Olds, the camera angle makes it look closer than it is. It will bolt up to the engine but there is no way at any angle to get both screws in the base.

Well... that makes no sense. Take the mount off the truck... maybe you got something mixed up? Then try to get it to fit at all angles... seems odd since these are the same parts you took off the thing.

The mount was never moved and all of the other screw holes are lined up. It is coming off now,it has 2 stripped holes so I'm going to replace it.

These could never have been bolted up so I must be delirious about remembering taking out 4 screws. But what else has a mount that looks exactly like it?

Stampede,Rustler & Nitro Sport regardless of engine/model are all the same part #

It's baffling, but like you said we'll all see when the new one arrives.

What's different? They look nearly identical to me. Maybe you're confused becuase in my pic the transaxle is in place and on top of the mount in the rear and the top deck covers part of the front???

No, just the little piece that's too long. Can you see the photo in my earlier post? I did a side by side shot.

Although, after a bit of photo-shop... not so sure:

The only thing I see is the Stampede has rounded corners but the hole spacing looks the same to me. Even though you put them side by side, there will be a scale size difference due to the fact it would be very unlikely that they were pictured from the eact same distance.
