ya its happening but its not so easy I'm using a 0.05 ci from a sportwerks chaos and I'm needing some advie/help/pics of other nitro mini-ts

to save room I'm doing a bump start instead of pull and a round fuel tank

looks like a cool project. Working full time on race boats I spend alot of my time dealing with building and maintaining fiberglass and carbon laminatea Nd that glass doesn't lookil like a good material for the application. Don't get me wrong I think it's very cool that you thought to use fiberglass but what you have looks a lot like chop strand glass and it's going to flex like a mother I'd like to suggest before you get too far along is to use a slightly different material for the chassis called G-10. It's pre-laminated light weight finishing glass that is cured under huge pressure so it is perfectly flat and VERY stiff. It can also be machined and tapped just like aluminum because of it's density. We use it to spread the load out where larger pieces of hardware are bolted to the deck. It can be had in just about any size and thickness you want and for the amount you will need shouldn't cost more then $15. Do a search for it online and there are dozens of suppliers for it.

no no the chassis is fine no flex whatsoever the fiberglass is from an l-88 hood scoop bought from jegs it was lying around with a big hole in it

I don't know what type of materials the Mini-Slider chassis is made out of but it's pretty frickin' tough.. and since it's longer than the stock chassis and flat plus predrilled for the rear end it might be worth looking into. If this were my project I'd try to utilize one with some mods.. just my 2 cents

Did I, or did I not just say that I didn't know what type of material it was? C'mon man, don't just read thru the post, read the post.

But to answer your question, no, it is not plastic. At least not the type of plastic the standard Mini-t chassis is. It's much much more rigid.. almost like a carbon fiber but I don't think it is carbon fiber. It's some sort of composite material I guess but I think it would be the perfect platform for your project because it is flat and longer allowing more room which you'll need for a nitro conversion. I wish you luck with this. I think it's a great idea. I've always pondered when/if AE would ever do a nitro version of the RC18 series.

i have a traxxas rustler the first day ibought it the transmision went out I'm kinda hoping it will go out agine I'm glueing it together next time

c'mon I wanna see videos and pics of the completed project. Nice work so far you wanna put a big block in that.

got this thing running yet? :\
would like to see some vids. :D

hey guys i just found out the best thaing for a winch and if you have a car big enough if you find a grinder a small one 2 or 4inch you can hook a gas motor to it and winch stuff it be pretty cool I'm working on it
