Nitro MT clean up question

How do you guys clean your Nitro MTs? I saw some spray cleaner at my LHS but it was like 9 bucks a can... Any cheaper alernatives to that stuff? Do you guys even use it? Id like to hear what you gusy use to clean up.

after a day of bashing, I remove my fuel line from the carb and run out the access fuel. Spray around the plug, (before you remove it), with some canned air. Remove the plug and I usually give er a shot of wd40. Wind the engine a few times, spray it again, and then put my piston at bdc. Then, put er away till next time. Imo, this is what I use. Works for me, haven't had a problem yet. I clean the exterior of the engine with either nitro fuel or some simple green. Works great!

Denatured achahol works great. It can be found in the paint dept. Get a spray bottle and some gloves.

Simple Green is my choice to clean the nitro residue off of the chassis and the outside of the engine.

+1 and it's biodegradable so if you are a nitro burning hippie you won't harm the trees you are hugging in the mean time....

I use all kinds o stuff to clean my car although simple green is great too. I also use nail polish remover for grease and grime because it's safe to use with plastic and it cuts right through. Don't smell the stuff though cause it's strong.

Isn't nitro burning hippie.......an oxymoron???
