I need help finding a new engine for my nitro 4 tec, I need it to be either pull start or roto start.

I had a 4 tech and the Traxxas 3.3 is plenty in that car. If you wanting to go a little cheaper the dynamite .19 is a direct drop in too.

i was looking at the os.18 engine but what is the drive hub for

Not sure I'm not a OS fan. There expensive and I don't race so I don't see the point in spending that much money on a engine that in my opinion is not any better. I can buy two LRP Traxxas or dynamite engines for the price of one OS. Everyone has there own opinion that's just mine. I bought one OS motor for my Revo and was not impressed for how expensive they are. I sold it shortly after and put a LRP engine on there.

There's not much out there for on road in your price range, most on road race engines will be a .12 and cost in the $400 range, with That in mind this is what I would consider if I were in your situation and refused to use a 3.3.

If you would be willing to switch to a bump start

If you have to stick with the pull or electric start

Overkill but I don't think OS makes anything with a pull or electric start with the correct shaft...Dont take that as a final word I could be wrong. This is a direct drop in for the 3.3 in TMaxx so it should mount up.

I think i will get the novarossi engine it says to use 16% is that necessary? or can i use 20%?

is the break in the same as all nitro engines

You can use what ever fuel you want to break in with long as it's under 30& nitro content and I don't use anything less that 11% oil content. In my opinion 16% and 20% doesn't do nitro engines justice. I have always ran 25 to 30% nitro in mine and I got a few engines with more than 10 gallons through them. It's all in how you break them in and treat them while you run them and after you run them.

You can do break in a few different ways, Which way is the best will differ depending on who you ask. To keep things simple and so you have confidence in it I suggest you follow the directions that come with your new engine.

I've had no experience with on-road Nitro but have looked into buying thos car myself. As with any Traxxas engine they are usually pretty decent anyways, but if you want to go with an upgrade you can go Novarossi, O.S etc...
