NiMH not charging

Hi all, i’m new to this and i have a NiMH battery that’s charging my RC truck and i put it to charge for the first time since buying today at 11 and it is now 5PM and it still isn’t charged and is burning hot to the touch. is this normal? what can i do to fix it?

That’s probably charged, when a NiMH gets hot, it usually means it’s charged. What charger are you using? And what voltage was it at when you checked on it?

i’m using the traxxas 4 amp fast charger that came with it. i haven’t checked the voltage yet. i pulled it off the charger and it’s cooled down now

That’s completely normal, it’s fine to run it when it has cooled off. But NiMH and NiCD batteries get really hot when charging.
