Just comes down to money. Personally after all this cancellation of a season I would not care if NHL ever skates again

i my self i'm a NFL fan but i did watch hockey until the cancellation of last season, but i made it through with out it,i diffenetly won't order OLN just to watch some games.

What sucks for me is when OLN airs the big rivalries in my area, (Isles/Rangers, Rangers/philly), they will have it blacked out on MSG & Fox. SUCKS ASS.... I'll be contacting my local Cable company real soon...

$$$$
But is it really the right time? A huge hissy fit which canceled last season has driven fringe fans away. No doubt. All that's left are diehards looking forward to the season. Hockey has an uphill battle to win back fans. And seeing as in the US, it's a 4th tier sport without the foothold that baseball, football and basketball (and even golf) have, relegating their coverage to a premium cable channel is really a questionable move. Believe me, I get pissed enough with the blackout rules. But shuffling games down to like channel 450 ain't gonna help. Sorry Gary, you need to trade up. Hockey needs to be visible. I figure it's probably one of the most misunderstood sports.
On the upside, if you ever go to a game, you find that hockey really attracts totally HOT CHICKS!

I read about that a couple weeks ago in the paper, can't remember which one. The writer who did the story was really questioning the move since OLN is not available as part of basic package on most cable systems and is a pay per on some others. It all boiled down to da dolla at the end. I lost a lot of interest in baseball when they went on strike and have felt the same about hockey since last "season." I'm pretty much in the boat now that sports like auto racing, golf (though I can't stand to watch it), and boxing are all I'll watch. Want more money, drive faster, hit it farther, hit em harder. Don't whine, when you spent your $10 mil signing bonus and the $50 mil over 7 years isn't enough for you to play average ball.

You can get OLN if u have Direct TV. Channel 608.

I'm a Hockey fan, always will be...
IMO.....
Baseball is boring as hell
Football is slow & drawn out
Golf, well.... I dont need to explain
Basketball, just not my cup of tea..
Nascar is cool, but monotonous

Again, just my opinion... lol

I heard that on espn a few weeks maybe even a month ago. Its too bad because hockey was fading in the US and this is in conjunction with the strike is going to hurt the league big time.

TJ, agree for the most part. I watch a lot of different sports. Baseball is good if you have other things to do while watching. Football....well...I'm a Bills fan so there's nothing positive there. I only watch Syracuse University basketball. Hockey just seems to be the only sport that still gets my blood boiling. But there are times when it's so hard to find. I'm a Rangers fan and most of the time MSG blacks them out. So I don't get to see that much. Sucks.

If I get some Rangers Tickets this year, we should meet up for a game.. There's just no plave better to watch a game than Madison Square Garden...

Ed they might have it on hdnet, it would have been nice to see it on ESPN, but thats not going to happen.
