Newbie who needs help.

Hi all, I just got a new RC Nitro from my gf for valentine's but I have no idea how to correct what's wrong with the car. This is the car: https://www.wilhelmy-it.de/sms/shop/index.php?mode=view&idlistpos=7

The problem is everytime I start it up the engine races like a bat out of hell, unless I put the brakes on but then the engine cuts out. I don't want to blow the engine so I'm hoping someone can help.

I read the newbie sticky, the booklets and checkout the videos on you tube but they're just not addressing the problem.

Now this is my first "real" rc so I'm a total beginner and not full aware of the terms/lingo. So if you can suggest any solution please be descriptive like I'm a 2 year old lol

You need to fix the idle screw on the engine.

Look in the instruction booklet for your particular car or engine model, and locate which screw is the idle screw and which way to adjust it to slow down the idle. You want to adjust it to where it's idling as slow as possible without cutting out or dieing. I would put the car against the wall or a stationary object, turn the screw about 1/4 of a turn in the direction to decrease idle speed (should be counter-clockwise but double check the book) and start it up, but be ready to pinch the fuel line if it's screamin fast. Once you get it to where it close to idling good, run it a lil bit to let the engine warm up and then fine tune it.
